Any Membership 20% off a single item coupons instore/online coming up soon? It seems lately its only 10% &15% certain items or your whole order. I hope they are not phaseing them out. The 20% off coupons were the main reason I joined up years ago.

It's pretty much been impossible to know about upcoming coupons for a while. They changed their staging area for coupons so you can't find them on a sequential search like before.

Usually around weekend of Sept 20th there is a Double Member in-store promotion though rarely any big sale to piggyback on. I fairly well expect some sort of in-store coupon to show in for
that weekend since nothing appears to be emailed for this week, but whether it's 10-15-20 is hard to know. The 15% Single coupons for leaving things in your cart overnight seems to be gone for now. I
haven't been able to get one of the those for a while, but if you sign into a Fresh Browser without popup blocker (a cached/cookie cleaned browser or Chrome Incognito) and wait 30-60 seconds a popup usually shows up
to get a 15% off Single Item Coupon for entering an email. Trick is - it doesn't even have to be a real email and gmail dot blind method works so you can get a 15% pretty mcuh anytime you want. It works in-store and online and doesn't
seem to expire despite what the site says. There is no printable, but if your clerks will enter the code manually it works. All these codes seem to be Batch codes so even though they are different codes, the computer sees them
as the same in store so only one works for transaction. They did recently change to a 3rd batch code it appears so if you saved some from a couple months ago (or last year) you could have codes from up to 3 different batches which
would allow 3 in one transaction. I've never tried to use the 15% single Item codes and a 10-15% Whole Order code in store -- it's possible it might stack since in the past Whole Transaction and single item codes weren't mutually exclusive

Google is doing something new in their price comparison engine under the Shopping tab. If you search on an item by UPC through Google's Shopping engine, it will return a list of results from all retailers carrying the item. This includes Barnes & Noble.

They now include active coupons in the search results as well. So it's an easy way to check which coupons are active at certain retailers.

1 clerk did say there was supposed to be a 50% off British TV set this weekend. Even with just a normal member discount that could be quite lucrative. If the Member Weekend happens too, then an amazing first week price.on this set and possibly some other TV sets if you want

The last mailer I got was for summer. I have not gotten any 20% off one item e-mail coupons for awhile as well. Lately it seems to be 10% or 15% whole shopping cart or percent off certain books etc. New policy under new CEO/owner? I miss the 20% off one item coupons, one of the main reasons I joined the membership.

I don't new policy really, It had been headed more that way for over a couple of years or more. I forget when the Cart coupons mostly replaced single item code (not 100%), but many people seem to prefer the 15% off Cart codes anyway.
Just scanning the last 200-300 posts of this thread would probably give you a good idea of the patten. 2017 I'm seeing a fair number of 15-20% single items codes, buit 2018 not that many except around BF/Christmas sales.

Mailer coupons never were regular interval and usually late June would skip to Mid-lat Oct, Around BF and often mid December. Or late Oct and expire right before BF, and a second set to expire after Christmas.
Of course that doesn't explain folks who have fallen off the list entirely. I think I went from 2012-2016 and never got any until I changed to a New Account, New Billing/Mailing address and since then I've gotten
them regularly again.

You can get a 15% item code pretty much anytime now which doesn;t seem to expire, but 20% are fairly uncommon this year -- Mothers Day, maybe Fathers Day, mid July

Here are some store only codes. You can have the clerk type in the code or make a printable with template -- replace the xxxxx with the 13 digit code, copy/paste to a browser and that should give you a normal coupon

Not all the time and not the multi-use coupons (all seem to be single use now) like used to be in the Welcome package, but they often have them in the Member Mailer Packs. Usually late October one of those sets come out. I don't use them so if I get one you're welcome to it.

Also at the register with a purchase there is a addon coupon -- $$ off cheesecake or Latte with a cafe purchase., etc

Nothing spoken yet. With the assumption right now is that the new owners aren't changing anything major yet

I'm guessing Nov 1 is a good day to plan for -- 1st of Month, after Halloween, and it's a Friday when the last several have started Anyone in store in the next couple weeks could ask and see
if the clerks will tell you anything. Last summer I got a couple weeks of notice, ohter years they're far more tightlipped about it, and sometimes like with the 40% sales they really don't know anything.

Godzilla Boxset releases 10/29 though B&N doesn't key on that like the FLASH Sale does. I think I'm going to call my store early in the week and see if they'll put a set on hold for me. I already have some discounted
Gift Cards in pocket, but I have noticed the last few weeks all the normal sites are SOLD OUT or only have a couple at a time.
The other thing to watch around that same time is whether they'll run the Gift Card deals -- $!10 Promo Card for buying $75 initially then hopefully 10 for 50 around BF. If they run the GC deals in store that's 12-18% off but those are using the 12/26 Promo Cards that can't be spent until after Christmas -- a lot of folks don't like that kind of discount since the sales can be sparse for months. The last couple year, the 50% ARROW sale has allowed a nice outlet.

I think the B&N gift card sale is a given. What's more interesting and we should keep an eye out is whether the gift card sale will return to FD (we didn't get one last year).

And no sale in 2017 so I'm expecting those kind of sales are now past tense.

The HAppy Teen GC were a nice deal last year get a 10% discount from Staples and Publix, then flipping those on teh B&N BF Gift Cards. Ended up with nearly 30% off, just wish I had known how easy it would be.
Unfortunately I suspect that was an Introductory type offer with the Happy Card offerings and am not expecting it to happen this year.

I am a bit more worried that my usually Ebay seller and all the Cardpool, Cardcash, Raise, etc are nearly always empty.

I think we now have a 2nd confirmation for the Criterion Sale (from an ex BN employee this time) which is scheduled to start Friday Nov 1.

Any idea when will the sale end? I'm interested in a release that's coming out in Dec 10, and hope it would be included in the sale.

Best guess is Dec 1 or 2. Cybermonday has often been the last date, but I was told over the phone yesterday when I had them put aside a Godzilla Box for me that it would end at the end of the day Dec 1 (instore at least).

I had hopes of the Dec 3 items, but never held much for the 10th.
IF they have the normal 40% sale AND Criterions are allowed AND coupons are still allowed, you could likely get very similar prices.

You mentioned in your post to watch out for the gift card sale around this time. Do you know if the gift card sale is happening anytime soon? My dad's birthday is on Sunday and I remember that in the past few years I was able to buy him a $75 gift card and get a $10 gift card for free. I would invariably use the $10 gift card for myself to buy a 50% off calendar in the After Christmas sale. Thank you.

I would also like to thank you for all your help in giving all the Barnes and Noble money saving news to all the people in this forum. This forum has now become my first stop before I buy anything at Barnes and Noble.

I haven't seen anything -- I was hoping it would have popped up on Tuesday, but Nov 1 or Nov 5 are possible.
