Mini FAQ
Coupons should not work for PREORDERS , Criterions, Nook, Legos, Rosetta Stone, Digital, Gift Cards, Memberships, etc.
Free Shipping is $25 (before tax/shipping) or with membership.
Online only a single code can be applied to an order

Return period is 14 days after delivery though possibly it's 30 days now for most people though there is a discrepancy b/w the receipt and website.
Online ordered items can returned to a local store unless it's classified as a web-only item then it's at the store's discretion to accept

Single Item 15% OFF, but should be reusable in different transaction and if the Clerks will scan it more than once.

i see, thanks.
I wonder if any Black friday coupons would work online for Criterions.
I'd like to make my purchase on Monday (because it takes 1 month usually for the package to arrive here and i'd like to have it before christmas) but if i knew there were i'd wait.

Although, come to think of it, even with a 20% off coupon, i'd just save $4, so what the hell...maybe i won't wait.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Holding out for Black Friday 40% off better. I have lots of CDs and books I want to buy, so that'll be nice, but still want a few more criterions. So far I've only picked up 2 when I could use coupons.

Potentially would buy 5 more, but unless I can use coupons I won't buy any more.

Same here. Just make sure you ask the sales person to enter the code manually.

On a different matter, none of the codes (both 15% and 20%) posted in this thread worked on 2 recent Warner Archive blu-ray releases (Time After Time and Goodbye Girl). Using any code on these 2 items would return a message like "the code cannot be applied to pre-orders". However, both items have been released already. Does anyone know what's up with that? Is it a new restriction on code use regarding the Warner Archive label?

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I received my member 20% snail mail coupons, and was rejected on a B&N where I usually have no problems. They said it won't apply to Criterion's (even though it's not listed as an exclusion on the coupon itself).

It doesn't look like the BF 30% off coupon will work either, since it excludes Criterion disks.

Looks like I may let my membership lapse in the Spring when it's up for renewal, since, for me, getting the extra bang for my buck on the sales were the impetus for being a member.

I'm more interested in the British sale. I need to complete my classic Doctor Who DVD collection before the catalog of OOP titles gets too expensive.

I went to another B&N in the area, and they took the snail mail member coupons. Picked up the Lone Wolf and Cub and the Dekalog sets. Yay.

Not only does it work, the terms and conditions changed to explicitly allow it. I've never seen that before. Now it says: "For each customer, this coupon can be redeemed only once per visit at any Barnes & Noble retail store and only once per transaction online at BN.com." Once per transaction is the best deal anywhere if you are a member and get free shipping. (Unless you want Criterions or other excluded items.)

British TV 50% sale 11/29 through 12/12

TV shows (DVD/BD no British TV or Disney/Marvel) 12/13-12/19

40% all Bluray -- 12/20-12/24. Except Disney/Marvel. The signs said Bluray and specifically didnt mention DVD like the June sale usually does.
Again this is mostly a store only sale with all instore blurays discounted, 2/3 online blurays, but normally most better (25/30%)coupons have been store only that week, but remember store generated ship to home are considered in store sales so instore coupons and member discount should apply
Do you know the percentage off for the TV week 12/13-12/19?

Thanks! Depending on the coupons available during that time could be some good discounts.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

There are a few miscellaneous TV titles I'd love to find a deal on. For example, Dark Matter: Season 1 msrp of $50 hasn't been below $34.50 that I've seen. Just 40% would be an improvement, but even moreso if combined with the 15% coupon. Still not great compared to most titles, but it is Funimation and I want to support it in the hopes that they'll release S2 too.

I did use it 3 times in store today in different transaction -- twice with same clerk so no problem there

I also bought a bunch of 50+10 GC. $300 with 6 promo cards. These do have an expiration date unlike the 75+10 versions, but I'll find something to use them on or I'll by something and return it to rollover the return to a full non exp GC. So it is essentially $360 in GC at a 17% discount. That's a better discount than most of the GC resellers and much safer since nobody has had a 20%+ GC sale like Family Dollar did last year. I keep hoping someone will run another easy deal.
Some states, like my state (Connecticut) have laws against expiration dates on gift cards. But, obviously your tip on a purchase and return defeats that issue, albeit with a bit of a hassle.

Bought Blood Simple CC with 30 percent off coupon. It didn't scan but clerk did an override after a quick look at the terms on the coupon. Another clerk was doing the override up front (even though I was just buying something that WAS truly covered) as she, evidently, had had it with rejected items.

In-store -- the only one that has been reported to automatically apply IF the clerk will scan it is the member 5/50.

CyberMonday code
is active

BNCYBER16 -- 15% complete order (Criterions still don't work). Should be applicable until 2:59am ET 11/29

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Bought Gilda and Ride the Pink Horse today with expired 30 percent coupons.

Clerk told me that the coupon had expired in the early a.m. of this morning. When I asked him whether the store was open then, he looked a bit baffled but the manager overheard the discussion and told him to override it. That was quite nice, particularly as they let me get away with it twice.

British TV 50% Off sale now active for 14 days (end of business 12/12).

Coupons now working for Criterions so there is some hope that those will be allowed during the 40% off Bluray Xmas week sale

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Bought Downton Abbey for the Wifey.

Sadly, it came to 74.99 so (because I didn't want anything else) I bought a bookmark to get over the 75.00 total.

B&N is excluding Nook books to make it harder ...

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I'm guessing there won't be any coupons that are more than 20% off one item between now and when the B2G1 graphic novel sale ends on January 16? (Yes, I know there were just 30% off item and 15% off order coupons but I didn't get around to using them)

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

20% Off One Item
Store Coupon B9E4P7W and Online Coupon DECEMBER20 valid at BN.com from December 1, 2016 at 12:01am to December 5, 2016 at 2:59am Eastern Time, and at Barnes & Noble stores from December 1, 2016 to December 4, 2016 at close of business. I would expect these to be multiuse in store dependent on clerk allowing and online

Members check your email for a unique ID 25% Single item coupon. If it reacts as usual these should be one time use in store and multiuse online and often online works for everyone. I just need someone to post their code for the forum, but you must use it instore first or it will register as used.

25% Off Single Item DNWVRDJC92D8P -- appears to apply to anyone's cart and though not tried yet should be re-usable
