Every available email address is signed up. Best email to use is gmail since you can use it to receive multiple emails at one address. You can find a tutorial how to maximize gmail at the link. However sometimes not everything goes through for some reason at B&N. Sometimes you might only receive a welcome email and nothing else. I seem to have better luck only doing a few at a time.

Even if you only have one e-mail account, you can have the clerk check to see whether there is a e-mail registered to your account. A clerk checked for me and the e-mail field was blank and I certainly signed up with one and I certainly went and re-registered the e-mail back a while ago, when so many of us weren't getting e-mail offers from B&N. Never hurts to check.
Meanwhile, I didn't have a 20 percent coupon yesterday and the clerk just did some magic in the system to give me the discount. I think she liked me.

The coupon template is the same as with the first set (? assuming you got both emails around 1pm Eastern) so all you have to do is add the code to the end of the template string and print. I resend it with the full info.
The actual codes are the same for instore and online -- some clerks don;t even require the coupon to be printed, but if you are buying multiple items, it gets old typing in a bunch of 13 digit codes manually. I find it a little safer to have the coupons in hand since you never know which clerk will balk at a bare code.
