No. My local Costco has each one of these sets for $23.99 each.

EDIT: I just noticed your location. I will assume that Costco is not an option for you. Sorry.

Lame Internet Explorer; had to download Firefox just to checkout.

My Name Is Ivan (1962) Criterion Collection $15.98
3 Penny Opera (1931) Criterion Collection $21.58
Delirious Fictions of William Klein (1966-1977 ) Eclipse $23.98
Thief of Bagdad $22.38

Still a little bit of store credit left. Was thinking of ordering the new 2-disc Diva but that'll wait for now.

Does anybody know if the Third Man Criterion that's slated for release on bluray later this year will have the same extras as the current release? I've been holding out for this sale to finally pick it up but may hold out a bit longer if the bluray will have the same supplements or more.

Here is what Criterion said on the issue:

"These new editions will feature glorious high-definition picture and sound, all the supplemental content of the DVD releases, and they will be priced to match our standard-def editions."

Hope that helps.

I wonder if that means they're going to re-release their first batch in SD and Blu-ray simultaneously or if they're just going to cull from old releases' extras? It would seem weird to already re-release another edition of Third Man on SD after having this last one not long ago.

Woohoo! DVDPlanet added my recent credit to my account this morning, so I now have almost $300 to blow.

This is going to be fun.

Volumes 1,2, and 4 are currently $29.49 each at Amazon. I'm not sure why the other two volumes aren't on sale.

Lastdaysofrain: Have you (or anyone else) ever actually viewed this disc? I can't find a review anywhere. I'd love to hear about the video quality & get a listing of the trailers included.

Make sure you doublecheck the 20% is still active, before you click next to enter payment details. everytime you do something like change payment method, or use points, it removes the 20%, and you need to reenter the code.

If you have a Sam's Club near your location check there first. I just picked up V5 for $24.88 and they had the other 4 volumes as well.

However, that price is ~$40/ea. set which IMO is a bit high based on other sales on these titles throughout the year. Were it me, I would wait.

EDIT -- After seeing a few other replies I actually looked at your location! So Sam's is out of the question. I would still wait as amazon typically puts these on sale for as little as $25 when new editions come out.

Well, that comes to $39 per volume. They rarely go on sale, but the last two times a volume was released, all of the existing volumes were discounted to to $29 IIRC. You might save by waiting (volumes have tended to come out around November), but you won't get a better price right now without a Costco or a friend in the US willing to go to a Costco for you. And even then, the shipping/insurance would probably eat significantly into your savings.

My suggestion... If you're unwilling to wait 6 months for a possible sale, I would go ahead and buy it.
