This happened with Ugetsu a few years ago, and unless I'm mistaken, it's never come back.

Back when it happened, I emailed Customer Service-- was told it was OOP. I replied to Customer Service and 'cc'ed Mark Harrill saying that it most certainly was not out-of-print-- and Mark made it happen for me, even though CS seemed to have no idea what was going on. Sadly, I don't think he's around any more.

Does anyone know for certain if DVD Planet ARE NOT extending their sale like Deep Discount?

If they're not, today is the last day for their 20% off sale and I'm going to have to make a decision about some more Criterions I've been wanting since their prices are lower than DDs.

Every time these sales happen, someone ends up waiting too long and then getting upset at the last minute when the sale ends.

I'm not saying that you're that guy... but I think it's best to assume that the sale will end today. If you're looking to get something, I'd order it right now (not 11:59PM, etc.)

I can't get through to these god damn CS people. I once again explained to them I was asking about updating my points for orders from 6/6/08 and they once again told me that my orders (which I made this past week) need to be fulfilled before they can update the points.

I usually order my Criterions from Dvdplanet and was surprised that the Last Emperor was $41.97 versus $37.98 at Deepdiscount. Since both are owned by the same company, I guess a price match is out of the question.

Yeah, you're probably right. The thing is I've already put in two big orders, one consisting solely of Criterions, so I think I'm kind of dragging my feet hoping the sale will be over before I make up my mind so I don't have to spend any more money.

I've already ordered everything that I want. Now, I'm just trying to decide if I want to order some more DVDs (that I really could live without) just because they're on sale.

It's complicated being a movie fan.

So who all is having problems with the website using IE? It has seemed like hit or miss for me the last week. I would have to image it has had some impact on sales if the browser crashes trying to get to the main page.

Got my FBP updated today. Convenient how they waited until after the sale to end to update them. Once I spend these point I might be done with this company alltogether. Low prices only go so far.

My points were just updated as well - with an order totalling 79 points missing. I'd advise everyone to monitor these points pretty closely.

I always assume the earliest time zone for end dates unless otherwise specified. Better safe than sorry.

A public service announcement...especially for the procrastinators and complainers...the code is still active.

I just got off the phone with a customer service rep and she said the 20% off sale ended yesterday but the 20% off code is still working for me.

I think I'll go ahead and put in one more order while I still can. I mean what the hell- if I can't afford to buy gas, at least I'll have some new movies to watch while I sit at home!

Cool, I wonder if they've extended their sale to the 29th. It was dead for me last night, but yep, it's working again. I placed a quick order for the Run Lola Run and V For Vendetta Blu-rays.
