Guess they have a new site and my wish list is now gone. Oh well, won't be placing any orders here. Don't have time to research everything again to compare to Deep Discount. As much as I'm falling out of love with DD at least they don't change their site in the middle of a big sale and delete my wish list.

Yeah, the wish list is on the cart page if you scroll down. Took a while for me to find it as well. Plus, American Gangster HD-DVD was literally locked in my cart, and neither myself nor DVDplanet CS could remove it. I have more problems with their website than any other e-tailer.

DVDPlanet: please Don't Walk Away from the Magic of this sale, or you may find your customers are Suspended In Time, waiting for The Fall. If you extend this to 6/29, we will Suddenly be Dancin', and not have to lament the passing of this sale, and I personally will be hoping that Whenever You're Away from Me I won't have to figure out more ways to weave all of the song titles from Xanadu into a single reply.

I've placed two orders since the sale started, both over a week ago and I haven't received any additional Frequent Buyer Points. Are they still updating those every Thursday? And does stuff you buy during the sale count towards that? I'm stuck at 585 and was trying to get above 600 to use them, and I was hoping it would happen during the sale.

I put in an order yesterday for the Eclipse Late Ozu set, which was listed as out-of-stock (as many things are at DVD Planet just at the moment, due to the sale). Then today, I get an email from DVD Planet with the following:

I know that the Ozu set is definitely not OOP (hell, it was just released a year ago). And I seriously doubt that DVD Planet is going to quit carrying any Criterion titles. So what the hell is going on? Is DVD Planet just blowing off out-of-stock orders now?

So I emailed them yesterday to try and get my points manually updated and they responded to me saying that my order needs to fully ship. Well of course they were talking about one I made the other day while I was talking about an order made the first day of the sale and the week before the first day of the sale.

I ordered the Late Ozu set from DVD Planet last week and just recieved it the other day, SF. I'd definitely look into that.

Thanks for the info, Krelyan. Yeah, there is something definitely weird going on with this. I checked at Deep Discount, too and they don't even seem to list it at their site. So either both sites have permanently dropped carrying it (possible, but doubtful), it has suddenly gone OOP (haven't heard anything about that anywhere), or perhaps they are now pulling titles from the sale (and website) once they go into out-of-stock status.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's the latter, and the Ozu set will be available again but after the sale ends. That would really leave me ticked off at both DVD Planet and DDD.

I would be interested to see if anyone else's orders for OOS items get suddenly canceled as well.

Well, on a similar note, my Rohmer CC is still on backorder and is no longer listed on DD's site. Although, at this time, I haven't received anything about a cancellation.

Customer service reps at DVDPlanet are insisting the sale date has not been extended... which, considering how clueless most of these reps are, probably doesn't really mean much one way or the other.

I don't think it's the case that they do this with most out-of-stock items, but there are a number of Criterion titles that remain in print, but are no longer available from DVD Planet. Few examples: Wajda box, Under The Roofs Of Paris, Tokyo Drifter, Branded To Kill, Pickup On South St. I couldn't guess why this happens, but it does seem a not wholly unheard of occurrence.
