1 ANE070443 DVD : AVENGERS '68 SET 4 $9.70
1 ANE070523 DVD : AVENGERS '68 SET 5 $9.70
1 ANE070653 DVD : AVENGERS 62, THE $14.57
1 ARM000017 DVD : ANGEL GUTS $32.01
1 BBC028590 DVD : DR WHO-SONTARAN EXPERIMENT $8.24
1 BBC038389 DVD : DOCTOR WHO-BENEATH THE SURF $31.91
1 MBI007398 DVD : MACHINE GIRL, THE $10.79
1 MBI008078 DVD : ZATOICHI COLLECTION ONE V.0 $19.68
1 PSN063622 DVD : ANTARES $9.14
1 TNG001045 DVD : WHERE THE GREEN ANTS DREAM $9.15

Merchandise Total: $ 164.59

Only The Sontaran Experiment was listed as in stock on the order confirmation page, but the email confirmation indicated two of the Avengers sets were also in stock.
It seems that despite the opinion expressed by many in this thread that sales are down, they are selling quite a few DVDs, judging by how many are out of stock.

There are two boxes of cheese I recommend for those who can and cannot tolerate lactose. The 3 disc Zombie Pack for about $10.98.
Blood Island Vacation is a four disc set with the very cool artwork from each film, commentaries, etc. for about $14.73.

Wow! I just placed my last order of this sale and then looked up my orders from this and last novembers sales and I've spent close to fifteen hundred dollars in those eight months. I have a problem and I need help.

My backordered item from my first order was shipped on the 23rd and arrived today. Both shipments arrived in 5 days after shipping.

But I still haven't seen my second order, shipped on the 18th. It's been 10 days.

And my 3rd order, placed on the 24 is still processing and hasn't shipped at all.

Cue that Tom Petty "waiting is the hardest part" song...

$14.34 Xanadu: Magical Music Edition
I'm a huge Xanadu fan (they are very rare). As ONJ once said in concert when she mentioned Xanadu and the audience applauded, "You mean you saw'r it?". This is one of the few movies I'd repeatedly buy as long as each new edition offers a worthwhile improvement.

However, after searching DVD Basen and Google for non-existent reviews of the new edition, the best I could find were some user comments on Amazon which said it was pretty much the same incomplete CD as before. I must've missed that the CD was DD5.1. It didn't sound like there was much improvement of the picture and the audio went from DD 4.0 to 5.1. There's an extra short featurette or two, and perhaps the movie has a higher bit rate going from DVD-5 to DVD-9. But the picture/audio and bitrate differences are just speculation w/o any detailed reviews.

Unless someone has more details on the improvements, I think I'll stick with my old Xanadu DVD, the Jet CD, and the Fool/Country tracks off the LP until Xanadu comes out on BR or this shows up in the Walmart $5 bin (as most DVDs I buy do).

Nice catch on Sunset Boulevard. I've meaning to watch that one. for $4.90 it's a no brainer. Also, I would have just keptthe BluRay, sold it on ebay, and ordered another on DVD.

For me personally, I have started to run out of things to place the big $2k orders I have in the past. So my ordering, at least, is down. I would guess by the volume and traffic, that this is probably true of others as well. That and Bluray has limited my movie purchasing (don't care so much about Bluray season TV - how crisp do I really need to watch Weeds anyways; BSG on the other hand...)

Combine that with some experience now with certain titles historically going cheap at later dates, these 20% off sales aren't your 2004 20% off sales.

Still spent just under a grand this time though...

ps - How in the heck am I still a 'cool new member' when I have been here since 2002. I mean seriously, in no way am I 'cool'. :-)

He obviously had no use for the bluray. I don't see what the big deal is.

I would say so. I just recently got out of $4K of credit card debt and sales like this don't help matters. I have tried very hard to resist. I might splurge on less than $60 worth of stuff that I need, but $1500 is way too much money. Question, how many of you are now broke because of this sale?

Not broke - but there's some serious addiction here - and threads like this don't help much.

Everytime I think I'm done, I make the mistake of looking here and "remembering" a title that I forgot and need.

In the past two months, various HD-DVD clearances, Columbia House's buy one get FOUR sale, Big Lots' shipments of Sony/HBO/MGM titles, and Deep Discount's Anchor Bay bogo sale didn't help my wallet either.

The rankings depend on the number of posts you've made.

V: The Final Battle
Death of The Incredible Hulk backorder
Melrose Place Season 4 backorder
Beverly Hills 90210 Season 4 backorder

Does anyone know what time the sale ends on the 29th? Midnight (5 and a half hours from now) or 11:59pm tomorrow (29 and a half hours from now)? Same for the DVDPlanet sale?

I'm doing some last minute shopping before it ends, and I've been wanting to order Fanny and Alexander 5-Disc Criterion for a while but both Deepdiscount and Dvdplanet say its out of stock.

Anyone know if its set to remain that way for a long while or not?

Don't know, but the discount still applies if it's out of stock, and you'll get it when hey get more, I placed an order last Tuesday for two sets (All Night Long set, Jarman's Glitterbox) that were listed as back ordered, and they both have shipped, as of today.
