I was not aware that DDD would price match. Have they been doing that for a long time? Also, you mention having them "beat" Amazon's price, implying that they would not only match but offer an additional discount.

They will price match and they've been doing it a long time (there is a huge banner at the top of their site), but also note that they tack on Amazon's basic shipping charge as part of the Amazon price.

I'm in for the Dario Argento Box Set and a couple of HD-DVDs. Will it be worth it to get the Dirty Harry box set from Deep? I just got a $5 rewards coupon from Best Buy.

Costco has a coupon special for it in June. $120 after coupon discount. At this price it might be worth buying a Costco membership (especially if DD and DP don't list it).

Yep -- officially discontinued by Fox.

Correct. They will "beat" the price by a small amount (less than a buck). And they have been doing price matching since the site started. On the site, click "Pricing Information" on the bottom of the page to see their policies on this.

Will they take the 20% off of the matched price during this sale?

I'm sad because many of the anime titles I wanted and price checked before have gone up.

Yeah, DD raises prices on some titles b4 the sale. For instance, I have the Charlie Chan Collection - Vol. 4 in my wishlist which has gone up to $33.92. It was $27.87 last week.

That's a Fox title that was on sale-- you guys, sometimes things go up because sales end, Occam's razor to the rescue.

Yeap, every year people talk about prices raising but 95% of them are items that were on sale. Anyways, that's getting off topic.

Here's a potential wish list, which I'll probably grab from DVD Planet:

Dirty Harry: UCE (Blu)
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (Blu)
Juno (Blu)
Man on Fire (Blu)
Natural Born Killers (Blu)
Oldboy (Blu)
Speed (Blu)
Wall Street (Blu)
Tremors (HD)
Midnight Run (HD)
Out of Sight (HD)
Being John Malkovich (HD)
D.C. Cab (Don't make fun of me dammit!)
Aguirre: The Wrath of God
Fitzcarraldo
Amores Perros
O Lucky Man!
Amazon Women on the Moon
Bad Lieutenant
Birdy
Imaginary Heroes
Gotcha!
La Haine (Criterion)
Walker (Criterion)
Night on Earth (Criterion)
If... (Criterion)
House of Games (Criterion)
Yojimbo (Criterion)
M (Criterion)

And a bunch of titles I failed to get from the MGM B2G1:

Joe
Mystery Train
At Close Range
Lenny
Manhattan
Crimes and Misdemeanors
The Killing

Not in previous years and probably not this year either, but it doesn't hurt to check. It'll either work or it won't.

No Costco in my area. Looks like this ship has sailed... Sad that they'd let the set go out of print, really.

Books have been included in the past, but no code was needed. They were just discounted when the sale started. Not all publishers were included though. During one of the sales they had a glitch where you could use the 20% off code on top of the already discounted price. That was nice.

Just like last time, all of the WB catalog titles have gone up a dollar or so in the last couple of days.

Not trying to threadcrap, but I only had five items on my shopping list for this sale and two of them were WB titles - definitely not on sale recently. They both rose 75 cents today - which isn't horrible, I suppose.

But the main item I was waiting to save on (Strangers With Candy: Complete Series) just jumped $7 from last week after not changing in price for over a year. I even passed when they had it for sale under $30 on Amazon because I was waiting for this sale. Hopefully prices at DVD Planet holds tight, because it just turned slim-pickings at DD.

The Edward R. Murrow Collection for $32! Been waiting for this sale just for that set. Can't recommend it enough for anyone interested in history, journalism, or if you just enjoyed Good Night and Good Luck. An amazing set.

I will be getting JERICHO - the first season. With the 20% off it comes in at $27.11 which is the cheapest I have seen it. Also BURN NOTICE is being released on the 17th - which will bring it down to about $28.

As far as I know, it is the only portal that offers cash back from DD, minimum $5 for payout though, so you'll have to shop there again(or at another retailer) to get your money, if you are just placing a small order. But definitely makes sense for larger orders. They also offer higher percentages for some other retailers, e.g. B+N is 6%.
I can't get either of these links to work in FIrefox or IE. Anyone else having the same problem?

While I'm all for your point, can't you just get DD to price match Amazon and beat Amazon's price?
1) I have Prime. Prices I'm comparing are final shipped prices

2) DD doesn't do 20% off and PM. Amazon offered me an extra $1.25 off because I ordered Weeds on Blu-Ray in the past

The live.com cashback site has been very iffy of late. MS made some changes to the site and it's been down more than up. Hopefully it'll be back up before the sale.
