Great price on Cujo. Hopefully my store will have it in next week.

Sty13s 05-22-08 11:28 AM

FYI

in store they dont have them in a bin/section, you have to hunt them out then take them to customer support and tell them about the sell

happend to me today at 2 circuit citys, could of been the dumbass workers not knowing about the sell but i had to hunt for all the ones i wanted which was a pain, i suggest doing online to store or just online purchase

way to big of a hassle

My local Circuity City had all of them in two bins with about 10 copies of each DVD. Although, the bins did not have a sign stating that they were 3.99 but I saw the list here before I went there.

Bobaray 05-22-08 01:01 PM

There was no sign of them at my Circuit City. When I asked, they found them in the customer service area. They were mistakenly marked for them to be put out on display on Saturday. I selected the ones I wanted as they moved them from the boxes into the bins. All of the titles were present; at least ten to twenty copies per title. They filled up three bins with a supply left over for restocking.

Upon reviewing the list above, noticed that my circuit city had Aliens, but not Alien.

Tried ordering on line for in store pickup but got message that said only available online in my area (NYC) . Have to pay shipping if order under $24.

"Blade: Trinity (Widescreen, Unrated Version, With Book)"

Pardon?

:google:

Apparently, it's a miniature comic book.

Went in this morning, found no sign but big stacks in a bin. Asked and was told they were the $3.99 DVDs. Picked 6 and went to checkout, they all scanned higher. Waited 15 minutes for them to check prices online and confirmed those were not the $3.99 DVDs. Girl at the checkout felt bad and rang up 2 disc collectors edition Braveheart for $3.99 :D

Cardsfan111 05-22-08 09:44 PM

I was able to pop in to my Circuit City right before they closed. No sign of the $3.99 DVDs anywhere. Guess I shouldn't be surprised. I was thinking I might be interesting in the upgraded version of Cujo.

I could be wrong here, but this sounds like a YMMV early thing, because it looks like most, if not all, of these titles were posted by Speedy in next week's CC ad starting May 25

Cardsfan111 05-22-08 10:28 PM

Speedy also posted a pre-Memorial Day sale thread dated May 22 - May 24:

Well played. Indeed he did. Still sounds like typical CC unpreparedness though.

Mosskeeto 05-23-08 01:37 AM

The deal was posted online early for ordering (via shipping) but not scheduled for B&M until later. Just an early opportunity to separate us from our money.

BobO'Link 05-23-08 07:55 AM

^And the titles are a bit different. From the ad:
"Select Titles Available Online"
So check speedy's thread for the in-store titles.

Yes. "Alien AE" is available at that price on line, but "Aliens SE" is only in the store. The print ad states "Select Titles Available Online". Unfortunately several titles I am interested in are only in the store which means a trip to the Mall only to discover they are sold out. :(

DouglasRobert 05-23-08 01:04 PM

My CC had a bin of $3.99 dvds, so I picked up 2 that I wanted. John Q and To Live & Die in L.A.

FYI: @ the front of the store they had a flyer for the sale which does have the sale listed.

They also had some TV on DVD for sale. Knight Rider: Season 1 is included but mine was sold out. I remember that Reba and Smallville seasons were in that bin too.

DVD Polizei 05-23-08 01:47 PM

I just ordered mine. I don't particularly look forward to spending a shitload of time looking for DVDs when they should be in one location. Hell, I ordered my DVDs yesterday and I just got a confirmation they shipped. Hell yeah, baby.

Lucky101 05-23-08 05:47 PM

I just stop by today after work to pick up The Punisher and Employee of the Month (replacement), they didn't have a bin for them so I just got what I needed and went up to the cashier and they both rang up at $3.99. No Problem.

visitor Q 05-23-08 10:46 PM

Yeah, I had no problem with both To Live and Die in LA and Empire of the Sun. Bot were marked 9.99 but I asked for a scan first and each rang through at 3.99. Nothing in Framingham, MA was marked (no bins, nothing) but I confirmed the the sale on circuitcity.com and had no problem (except for cc.com's endless amount of fucking pop up ads).

Thanks OP for the heads up play.

terminator911 05-24-08 01:02 AM

Went to the CC here in Oklahoma City... no bins, nothing marked as such; went to Customer Service and they knew nothing about it.

Instead was handed a flier with some titles at 4.99 like Munich and such. I just ordered DVDs online but found their ordering system f****g stupid; can't add more than 8 items at once.

Anyway, free shipping on orders of $24 or more and 2 of my orders have already shipped.

Awesome find, thanks.
