All store exclusives and freebies - 4/14/08 to 4/20/08
 

These weekly threads are for the posting and discussion of that particular week's store exclusives and freebies.

These lists will likely be incomplete until Thursday or so, since DVDs are released on Tuesday and one of us needs to visit all the stores to confirm things.

Volunteers needed: I regularly go to Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, and Walmart; but don't visit the other stores every week. If you work at or regularly go to the FYE/TWEC chains, Costco, Borders, K-mart/Sears, Barnes and Noble, Blockbuster, Hot Topic, or any other store that has DVD exclusives; We'd appreciate any updates you could give us.

In The Name Of The King 2 disc exclusive set - FutureShop

For those who Pre-Ordered Juno at FYE, there is going to be a free pen included with the DVD. Knowing TWEC, you may be able to get the pen if you buy the DVD on or after Release day.

<b>AVP: Requiem</b> comes with a glossy "framed" cardboard lithograph at Transworld, looks to be about 8"x10" from the sample I saw.

At Target, the two-disc edition of Juno includes an exclusive movie script.

At Futureshop, Juno two disc edition comes with a copy of the script
At Best Buy (Canada), Juno two disc edition comes with a T-shirt

At Circuit City, Juno 2-disc comes with a free T-Shirt.

Has anyone searched any of the others?

Trevor, I know that Blockbuster does have something for <b>Juno</b> but I forgot what it was. When I went in asking if they had anything for <b>AVP</b> I was told that they had nothing because they got something for <b>Juno</b> instead. I want to say that it was a T-shirt but it seems unlikely that both Circuit City and Blockbuster would both have a shirt. If anybody is interested, I would suggest calling your local location. But yes, they do have something, sorry I don't remember what.

Yep, same format/packaging.

Nice thread. Glad I stumbled across it. FYI, next week for "Cloverfield" FYE will have a steelbook and Best Buy will have a bonus disc.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that Best Buy is running a special for the "Alien vs. Predator Ultimate Showdown" 15 disc DVD set for $75.00 with the purchase of the "Alien vs. Predator: Requiem" DVD. (That is if you can find a store that is still stocking it).

I'm guessing Cloverfield may be another Juno, where we have 9 different store exclusives.

I'm glad you stumbled in here too. This is our 4th year of doing this now, we're stealthy I guess.

It should be noted that The Final Season bonus dvd is a Sam's Club Exclusive. Wal-Mart does not carry it.

Wow! I guess everyone really hates Uwe Boll, 'cause no one mentioned the In The Name Of The King 2 Disc Exclusive set from FutureShop.

No, I found it at Wal-Mart.

Sam's Club and Wal-Mart are basically the same. The exclusives are usually at both stores, but sometimes only at Wal-Mart. I have never seen an exclusive only at Sam's Club. They often say, "exclusive to Sam's Club", but they are always at Wal-Mart as well.

Wow, that's pretty surprising -- that <b> In the Name of the King</b> would have an exclusive bonus disc not available in the US. I hit 11 different mainstays and did not see a mention of this second bonus disc. Anybody here see differently?
