Oh I had a question for you Speedy. Circuit city seems to not open on Sundays well the ones I have checked do not. Does that mean that they will have Wii's in stock on monday morning? Since the ad does start on March 30 which is a sunday. Let me know if you get the chance.

They weren't open this past Sunday because it was Easter, but unless you live in some odd part of the country, they should be open next Sunday as usual.

I'm sure that the closing you noticed was due to Easter. Call your local store to see if they'll be open this Sunday.

I'm sure they will be and that means they'll have Wiis in stock.

Pretty lame prices on that HD DVD "clearance." You can do better than those prices any day of the week online.

Thanks Speedy!

I might check out the HD sale. Problem is my local CC sent back a lot of their titles and they don't have much left.

Some titles will be available online.

I included a list of what's currently listed on their site.

Is that list of HD-DVD titles for the sale the REGULAR prices? Or the prices with the sale?

Because if I could get some of those for $10, like the Kubrick and Twilight Zone films... Sign me up.

At the top of the list it says, "Circuit City pre-50% off HD-DVD list by twen" so that would lead one to believe that it'll be half off of those prices...especially those $34.99/$39.99 titles. However, I'd be pretty surprised if titles like Ray/Field of Dreams/Deer Hunter, etc. that are $14.99 are going to be $7.50 at CC. If so, I've probably hit my point where I'll start to add a few more titles.

I know that Sony has stopped making them in favor of LCDs.

What's in the ad is as follows:

Mitsubishi 73" 1080p Full HD DLP
Closeout // No rain checks
Web ID = WD73734

$3299.99 b/4 $300 Savings

Mitsubishi 57" 1080p Full HD DLP
Closeout // No rain checks
Web ID = WDY577

$1799.99 b/4 $200 Savings

That's All!

Probably works like Black Friday doorbusters. People get in line in front of the store, probably hours early depending on location and weather. Someone from
the store comes out and hand the people in line first a ticket (or voucher) that allows them to purchase one of the Wii's they have on hand. Once you have the ticket/voucher, you can rest easier, go back to your car, get a coffee, whatever until the store opens. Then you go in, do your shopping, hand the cashier your voucher and they'll grab you a Wii from the back.

They might put a time limit on the voucher, meaning you couldn't grab a voucher and come back later in the week and still use it. It might only be valid for a couple hours before they let someone else by the one set aside for you.
