Why don't you just order online for store pickup? Then you don't have to worry about not getting one.

That's just the regular two-disc edition? Isn't Best Buy selling both the Steelbook and the regular two-disc edition? If not, then yeah that's it, just minus the correct artwork and details.

i think on release they just put out the SteelBook unless they are very limited, then when quantities deplete they get the regular and put it out. someone correct me if i am wrong.

I would say try it out. The worst that will happen is that they won't honor it.

Went ahead today and picked up BSG Season 1 and 2.0. I'll probably go back tomorrow and get the $40 price adjustment.

I am the same. What I've done in the past though is order on-line, and once I've made it to the store, actually go and pick one I want if they have plenty in stock. I then take it to the counter to pick up the one I purchased on-line, and I select the better of the two. If they do run out at the store, then at least I have a chance at getting one that nots banged up. If it is, then I'd probably return it right there. I also noticed it's not for pre-order yet on-line, but I'm hoping it will be so I can do the above. I'm sure someone will be posting early Tuesday morning the amounts in the stores. If I make it out to BB early enough, I'll try to.

Does anyone know if Wal-Mart will have a deal where you can get the book Atonement with the movie? Because Best Buy is an hour from me and they're only getting 17 per store.

I believe this is the David Attenborough edition (who wants Sigourney Weaver narrating? gah!) But please correct me if I'm wrong.

all the recent steelbook releases have been their own SKU, and both steelbook and regular 2-disc editions are out at the same time.

the only case where this differed was best buy's first steelbook exclusive with "the departed." the steelbook was a limited run, BUT it shared the same SKU as the standard 2-disc. when it was out, it was out. they still put them all out at the same time. but the horrible thing was that because they didn't differentiate SKU, you couldn't ask them to check another store's inventory in the computer to see who had them.

LUCKILY with that movie i was able to snatch one up randomly a week later. i guess someone had returned it. but i spent a couple days looking for them and didn't find out it wasn't a standalone SKU until the 3rd store i checked (i didn't frequent dvdtalk at that time, so i dunno if this was common knowledge)

These weren't listed in the ad, but neither Southland Tales or A Pup Named Scooby-Doo: Season One is available @ BB - well at least the one I went to.

So if you want ST, you'll likely have to go to Circuit City.
