I just depends on which person you talk to.

Thanks to the original poster of this thread, and to the folks that mentioned Beowulf's release today. I got Beowulf today (plus the Bladerunner 5 disk set), and the gal behind the counter said, "I just put that out. It was never rented!" Awesome deal, cheaper than seeing it in the theater.

Forgive me if this has been asked already, but does anyone know what the cut-off date (in terms of release week) is for Hollywood Video to continue receiving HD DVD new releases? The employee I spoke to today indicated that the decision was made within the past week. Therefore, I assume titles like Into the Wild, Things We Lost in the Fire, and Bee Movie are possibilities, but anything after that seems unlikely.

^You didn't read your PM MetalGator. Sorry you missed out. I bought the last copy minutes after someone else left with one. I thought it might have been you.

The Garden City, MI store does not carry ANY HD/BD titles. Livonia, however, does, but they've got them all pulled off the shelf and have them stacked to the side. Picked up:
* Beowulf
* Face/Off
* Payback DC Straight Up
* All three Matrix films
They said they'd have to do 2/$20 until I showed them the coupon and they acknowledged that $7.50 ea. was a better deal. No grief beyond that.

My HWV had informed me that if I came back on Tuesday I could get Beowulf and Am. Gangster. I called today and they said Am. Gangster was gone, and I would have to wait on Beowulf for a couple of days. Which is the same BS they said about A. Gangster. I was also informed that the manager at Gamecrazy was buying most of the newer titles before they're put out.

Went to the one near me, and they wouldn't honor the 2 for $20 deal but he finally let me use the BOGO coupon. I ended up getting American Gangster and the Blade Runner 5-Discer. Anyone know where I can get the 5 Disc HD DVD case for this?

I THINK the one in Decatur sells HD DVD's, but you need to go asap.

Coming To An End?
I drove to the ONLY Hollywood Video in the area after work today up in Martinsville, IN. They had about 20-30 single copies. I had a nice long chat with the store manager, who had reported that he had been told by "Corporate" that they would no longer allow discounts on their pre-viewed HD-DVD collection below the standard $14.99 price. The ongoing 2-for-20 sale and B1G1 free coupons no longer worked on HD-DVDs.
He had even scanned a few into the system to see if he could use the discount for friends. No dice.
I don't know if this is the beginning of the end, or if this is just a regional things here in Southern Indiana, but you might want to move quickly (today!) in case this is a sign of things to come.
For the record, I picked up Stardust and Beowulf, even though both rang up at $14.99 plus tax.

I tried to ignore this sale, but alas I could not
I called up Petaluma, CA HWV to make sure they were selling them. The person I talked to did confirm their store was selling them and that they were "2 for $20"
I was able to use the "B1G1F" coupon inside the coupon book (on one set of movies) that was near the front door. They had a display for American Gangster but it was checked out.
So for $37.XX I picked up:
Elizabeth: The Golden Age
The Mummy
The Mummy Returns
The Brave One
Thanks OP!!
