Toshiba HD-DVD player $129.99 at Costco
Saw it this afternoon at the Costco in Clifton, NJ. I don't know what model number it is, but this is certainly the cheapest I've ever seen for a high-def player. If I didn't believe that HD-DVD would lose the format war, I'd've picked it up, even though I don't have a hi-def TV yet.

Toshiba just announced that they were reducing prices on their hardware, so other retailers should be lowering their prices today.
Looking at Amazon, the HD-A3 is $68.02 cheaper than when I bought it early November (back when they had the get 10 free HD-DVD deal).
I see that on at Amazon
the HD-A3 is now $131.98
the HD-A30 is now $170.98
the HD-A35 is now $269.45
(these three models have the 5 hd-dvd's free by mail, as well as 300 and Bourne Identity packed in the box).
Best,
Trev

It's the HD-D3 which is Costco's version of the A3 w/HDMI cable as noted above. I think Sam's Club has the same D3 as well for a bit less than $130 according to other threads.

I bought the HD-A3 when it was $179 with the 10 HD-DVD's (5 Rebate & 2 in the box) after X-mas.
I've been able price match it down to to $132 with Amazon. For that price, the free HD-DVD movies, and the up-conversion ability of this player, its still a good deal regardless of when the HD-DVD format is officially dead.
