I currently have a missing order out there in la-la land... amazon has already shipped my replacement. But, should that other one eventually get delivered... will Amazon know that? How does that work?
Not that I wouldn't return it... just curious.

The most likely answer is maybe. Maybe they don't find out. Maybe they find out and don't do anything about it. Maybe they find out and request you to return the extra shipment or face a second credit card charge.
Leaving ethics aside, the worst case scenario would be that they'd request you to return the extra shipment, but possibly you'd be able to keep both and hear nothing more about about it.

Something similar happened to a friend of mine a couple of years ago and she wound up just keep both copies of the DVD. The "lost one" wound up arriving like a week after the replacement.

I've got 3 BOGO packages missing from Amazon. The first was shipped Dec. 19th, it's missing. I called Amazon and they shipped a replacement on Dec. 29th, it's now late or missing. The first four Harry Potter HD-DVDs were shipped to me Dec. 26th, they are missing.
In the meantime I've placed several other BOGO orders at the same time and later than the missing orders and they arrived within a few days. The most recent was mailed Saturday and I received it Tuesday. If I end up getting two of the same order, I'll return one, but I would like something delivered in a reasonable time frame.
I'll wait another week or so before calling again. Amazon has been good but the USPS sucks. I expect the holiday packages should be delivered and things back to normal, but maybe not. Anyone else having problems with their orders?

On one order of 4 $27.95 titles they gave me credit for 2x of the difference. that was good.
On another order of 8 $27.95 titles, six of them dropped and they gave me a $50+ credit. that was GREAT!
