Decent deal on The Complete James Dean Collection and Bogie and Bacall: The Signature Collection sets at $17.99 each. A shame that shipping takes away from the deal, but at $39.93 total (parcel post shipping), not too shabby.

yeah the James Dean box is really good price.. makes the shipping tempting

but i already own Giant, and i'm not even a huge j.d. fan

still, all three 2-disc versions is a steal of a deal

Nope, there are still two pages of $4.99 titles, three pages of $8.99, and several (>10) pages of $9.99 titles still on sale.

I know many of you here have done business with J&R. I placed my first order with them for the Bogart/Bacall box on new year's day. I emailed them & received a personalized form letter that didn't give me any info, just basically admitted they're using drop shipping for their dvd's & had no idea when it would ship.

The set shouldn't be hard to source unless they've sold out.

My ? is, is this normal behavior from J&R?

I just spoke with J&R on the phone. They couldn't/wouldn't tell me exactly why the order is just sitting, but they told me if the order wasn't filled within 2 weeks of the original order (tomorrow) it would automatically be cancelled.

Again, have others who previously ordered from J&R had this sort of problem? I'm a bit irritated.

I stopped ordering from them for similar behavior. Poor shipping time, non-responsive cs, poor shipping quality. I've had box sets like the JD ones I saw ordered ship from them in a bubble envelope.

I ordered a couple of things back in December. The Lost Season 3 box for $24.99 shipped with no problem. The Hostel Blu-ray for $9.99, which was in-stock and available when I placed the order, mysteriously went OOS and that part of the order was canceled. When I called J&R to complain, they offered to re-order the item (since the title is still widely available) but it was similarly canceled due to "lack of supply." WTF? If they have a mega-super blowout sale, I may try them again. Otherwise, I'll stick with Amazon.
