Definitely not as good as Best Buy's recent sale which was 31.99 each.

How did you find out about this deal? This isn't a Gold Box deal (today's GB deal is an atomic wall clock), nor is it a lightning deal, which are prominently advertised on the site. Just curious as to how Amazon advertises these things.

Anyhow, a heads up - the top of the ad says that tomorrow there will be a gold box deal on another HBO release.

I get a daily email from www.lightningdeals.com that e-mails out a bunch of deals each day. I think they post the same e-mail newsletter on their site each day too at the bottom.

If you click on the gold box, you see the deal of the day (the clock), the lightning deals to the right of that, and under those is a heading that says 'Our best deals,' which Deadwood is one of.

Best deal was still Costco where they were $30 each, but this is still not bad.

so did HBO finally wise up and make their stuff affordable finally or are they blowing it out because of HD-DVD/Blu-Ray?

They've been making their stuff affordable this year, all the MSRPS of their new stuff went down, as well as most of their old, Sopranos is still the one that hasn't gone down significantly.

This deal totally sucks, Amazon offered one of them for 34 and the other two for 42 bucks each just a couple of weeks ago, making it a little over 100 bucks for all 3.
BTW, all recent Deals of the Day were pretty bad, with similar recent regular sale prices being as low or lower.

Given the recent HBO TV series sales from BB, with the patience to wait one should not have to pay more than $20/series for these titles.
