Best Buy 12/23 Deal (Rumored) Buy 2 HD-DVD Get 1 Free

I just read off highdefdigest.com from a Best Buy employee who had seen the ad for 12/23, that Best Buy is going to have a Buy 2 get 1 free HD-DVD sale the week of 12/23 to 12/29. This deal applies to any/all HD-DVDs in store. Take it for what its worth currently.

Interesting deal, if it includes any. Starting Sunday, they're doing buy one, get one free but it's only on select HDs.

Well I'd get Kingdom, Tremors, and Out of Sight.

Needs to be BOGO on ALL HD DVDs in the store. Otherwise, me no bite.

That would be pretty good. Much better than having BOGO from a select few only.

Hmmm...if it works on those "exclusive" 3-packs, I might bite.

Speedy will let us know soon I'm sure.
I'm in for several titles...maybe. Best Buy prices are still kinda high.

Bingo!!! You could make out about the same shopping on Amazon any day of the week. The only real way that Best Buy competes with their prices is with a buy one get one free.

It depends.

For example, The Shining is $19.99 at Amazon and $24.99 at Best Buy.
3 Copies of The Shining at Amazon would be $59.99
3 Copies of Shining (Buy2Get1Free) would be $49.99

So you COULD save...
I'm just going to PM this at Fry's since they are usually Amazon prices anyway.

But I don't want 3 copies of the Shining on HD-Dvd. I already have 1 copy of it on Blu-Ray.

I imagine Gizmo's example could fruitfully be applied to any number of $24.99 titles
