Picked up Black Hawk Down, Dark Crystal, Dr. Strangelove and Memento. They had the SEs picked out and behind the counter.

I've never done a store pick-up before. Do I pay when I pick them up or is it automatically charged?

you give your credit card number online, but they do not charge it until you physically pick up your order. if you do not pick up the order within 7 (?) days, the order will be cancelled.

My experience is that they charge you right away (maybe when the store says the item is ready for pickup). They cancel the order and refund you if you didn't pickup the order within 8 days. You will get email reminder before the order got cancelled.

They must do it differently for different orders... ?

When I picked mine up, they had to run my CC for both separate orders.

I know for sure b/c the girl had to ask me to give her my card again for the second order.

I also signed two separate receipts so I think for mine, anyway, they charged me when I picked them up.

Could be different at diff. stores maybe though.

just get 3 and shipping would be free.

This has always been the case for me as well. Even tho when I check out online for an instore pick up I always need to give them the credit card I used and they have me sign the credit card receipt in store.

Damn. I definitely want The Dark Crystal, but the only other title I really want (Blue Thunder) is not available for store pick-up. I can't believe with that many titles to choose from there aren't a couple of more I want but nothing is jumping out on me.

Actually, only a few of the $8.99 special editons at BestBuy are $8.99 on amazon. The 3 disc deluxe edition of Black Hawk Down is $15.99 on Amazon.

I was going to pick Black Hawk Down and one other. But every "one other" I checked on was not available at any of the local Best Buys. I don't want to pay their shipping charges so I said to heck with it.

Of course it seems that the store I ordered from doesn't actually have Black Hawk Down as it now shows as unavailable and I've gotten no response to my order placed last night. Great.

I was going to stop in and buy The Dark Crystal on the way home to upgrade my 1-disk, but I couldn't resist getting a free movie with it so I ordered Memento as well for in-store pickup. I don't remember that movie much so hopefully its worth it.

If they don't find it in-store, you have the option to call customer service and have 'em ship it to you without S&H. (Hopefully they'd send the right thing though)

Is it possible to select any of the titles from the massive list (546 titles) in link #1 for the buy 1 get 1 free (i.e. Spiderman 1: Animated Series AND Spiderman 2: Animated Series) as opposed to selecting one as a freebie from link #2

Can I get Spiderman 1: Animated Series and Spiderman 2: Animated Series for approximately $9.99 total?

Or would I have to select Spiderman 1: Animated Series and something like Dark Crystal?

i lol'd!!!!

oh, and the web site said that Raging Bull was oos at my store (Sherman Oaks), but I went to try and snag a Wii (PHAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and when I walked by the DVD rack there it was just sitting there.

i realize not everyone can go in to check, but if you can there might be some random copies still around that don't show up when you check stock online.

happy hunting!

re: the lists... i could be wrong but i believe that one list is a subset of the other so which list you pick from shouldn't matter.

i think.

Well, in the process of picking up my two DVDs above, I somehow managed to earn a $10 giftcard which they applied to the last Robocop steelbook I was picking up for my brother (they had nothing but slipcover ones left).

The giftcard I guess had something to do with the girl taking too long to get to me PLUS they pulled the wrong version of Dark Crystal for me. So once my brother pays me for his Robocop, my Dark Crystal and Memento will essentially be FREE!

On the pick up counter there was a blue button that I though was some kind of "ring for service" button but then I saw the clock behind the counter had started. She thought I was timing her and by the time I left the counter, 9 minutes had passed. So anyone doing in-store pick-up may want to hit that button.

Success at Reston!

I ordered BHD 3-disc and Memento 2-disc again, and this time BB had the correct versions waiting for me. I was already up $10.56 because of the gift cards that BB had already given me, so I got my 2 movies free and BB paid me $1.12 to boot.

I picked mine up today but they gave me the wrong Black Hawk Down (the older 1-Disc version). Will they honor a return to get the correct one listed from the site?

Successfully did an in store pickup for 2 copies of the 40th AE of Dr. Strangelove. Although twice now I've gone to Bestbuy and forgot to bring with me my mystery reward zone ticket. Maybe the third time will be the one.
