Yes they are, buried:

Apparently it's STILL not supposed to be the DC of Tombstone...

Went to get Panic Room at my local BB Sunday and they had a pretty meager selection in their sale section. Picked up a copy of Panic Room (they had 5 in the slot) and saw it was the single disc version (repackaged in a keepcase, original price $9.99)! Also, they had the original Saw III, not the Director's Cut, on the display, too. Asked a clerk to help me and he pulled up the 3-disc set right away on the screen, saying 8 in stock. Couldn't find any on the sales floor! This is a new store and this is the 4th time I have looked for something on sale the first day and they have not had it out yet.

Fortunately, I was planning on visiting relatives in another city that day and I stopped into their local BB and their display was fully stocked with all of the correct sets! So I left happy.

I was just wondering something.

I went to BB on Sunday morning right when they opened up, right when I walked in there was a very long line going towards the video game/computer departments. Does anybody know what everyone was going there so early to buy as I didn't see anything in the flyer that would warrant such a line.

More than likely, Nintendo Wiis. The flyer listed a minimum number of Wiis on-hand.

I saw the same thing and also wondered. I saw a few people coming out with Wii consoles though.

Confirmed. We saw a stack of them on Saturday and people were being told they were on hold for Sunday morning. Lame, but true.

What do you want on your Tombstone?

You're right. I had a bad experience trying to get them to honor the ad today at the King of Prussia, PA store. After waiting for the cashier to call one guy for help, and then waiting for him to get an actual manager, and then waiting for the both of them to walk back to look at the Tombstone DVDs on the shelf, I got a litany of excuses from the "manager" such as the fine print on the ad says the regular price of the titles is $14.99-$16.99, and that the Vista Tombstone's regular price is $23.99, so it couldn't be the right DVD. Which neglects the fact that the regular price is PART of the mistake in the ad. What if none of the titles in the sale were actually that regular price, would they be exempt from honoring the ad at all? Then came the real whopper, that he can't give me the price on this one because, if you can follow this logic, the ad could be showing a new version of Tombstone that looks exactly like this one from the side but actually costs less.

I've had trouble with price matches before but I've never had this hard a time getting a store to honor their own ad. When he definitively said he would not give me the price I asked for his name and the phone number of a district manager. He said the only number I could call is 1-877-BEST-BUY and walked away. That number didn't seem to work so I walked over to customer service and asked if there was any manager above him in the store. The girl called him and at that point he told her to tell me they would honor the price because he had determined that there was no identical-looking, lower-priced version of Tombstone coming out. Oy vey... He did not come back to personally offer me any apology or explanation himself.

I had a decently rough time, but they were all polite, and once I pointed out the obvious spine in the cover, he went "hmm, yep, sorry about that."

But then I had fun at a different store with store pickup for that B1G1, so I guess that's what I get--balance!

Went to Best Buy this morning and picked up the following 2 Disc Special Editions at $8.99 each:

Casino Royale
It's a Wonderful Life
The Shawshank Redemption

Great prices on these new 2-disc collector's editions!
The sale rack that was supposed to have these DVDs near the front door was nearly wiped out. I found Casino Royal on a lone stand in the aisle towards the back of the store near the computer dept. The other 2 DVDs I found on the main shelves. So if you see the front rack near the door empty...be sure to look around other areas of the store. They aren't marked $8.99 in the other areas, but they do ring up properly when you check out.

Oh, I didn't notice that. I guess the cashier didn't notice it either because I just got back with Memento - $8.99 and Black Hawk Down - $0.00.

Is the Pirates gift set with the 7" Captain Teague the 2 disc edition of the film or is the one disc with the bonus disc inside? The web site isn't clear on this.

Is it just a shot in the dark to assume I'd actually receive a steelbook Robocop if I ordered from Amazon? I'd never come across the slipcover version until the Best Buy sale today.

I really want that orginal packaging and I hit up 4 other stores that price match today trying to find it with no luck. Here today, gone tomorrow, I guess.

It's the same artwork (front and back) as the steelbook version, just printed on paper in a standard amaray case. The slipcover duplicates the same artwork.

I wonder why Amazon.com is matching all these sales from their competitors, moreso than I've noticed in the past (and I'm not complaining)....it's all good as I prefer to shop at Amazon.com vs. a B&M for DVDs

In for The Dark Crystal - I hope it stands the test of time

Amazon has been matching Best Buy weekly sales for quite some time now. I have no idea why they chose BB to match instead of Circuit City.
