Lots of Costco B&M DVD deals before Xmas, incl. big collector's sets, eg., X-Files
This is extracted from a coupon handout at the store. I have omitted some deals that didn't interest me (mostly minimal discounts on Disney stuff). To the best of my ability, I have included the after-coupon price (without tax) as noted below. Some of these will be available online (indicated by *), but I don't know what the shipping costs will be.
If you missed the Barnes & Noble 50% deal awhile back, this looks like the next best bet on the big X-files set. For now.
Nov. 26-Dec. 2
$12 off Warner Bros. HD/BR 4-packs ($44 AC)*
$50 off James Bond Ultimate Collectors Set ($129 AC)*
Dec. 3-Dec. 9
$15 off Ken Burns' The War ($59.99 AC)*
$40 off 24 Seasons 1-5 Collectors set ($119.99 AC)*
Dec. 10- Dec. 16
$10 off Planet Earth DVD set (didn't see price)*
$20 off A&E box sets (several shown: Bennie Hill, America at War, Agatha Christie---none in my store so I couldn't determine final price)
$30 Universal TV box sets:
Northern Exposure Complete Series $99 AC*
Miami Vice Complete Series $99AC*
Murder She Wrote Seasons 1-6 $139 AC*
Columbo Complete Series (didn't see any)*
Dec. 17-Dec. 24
$60 off:
X-files Collector's Edition $159 AC*
Stargate SG-1 Complete Series $159 AC*
Ford on Fox (didn't see price)*
$12 off Here's Johnny! Definitive Tonight Show Collection $48 AC*
$10 off assorted HBO box sets (Band of Brothers, Sopranos Season 6 p.2., Rome, Deadwood---didn't see prices)*

Alright! $60 off of "Ford at Fox"! I was unable/unwilling to commit to the number of hoops I would've had to have jumped through to get it from B&N during that feeding frenzy. If it's $159 at Costco like the other sets mentioned, I'll be happy. I only wish that they didn't make us wait until Dec. 17 to buy it when it streets on Dec. 4. Oh well...

The family DVDs in this Costco sale
Nov 26-Dec 2
$2.50 off each: Nickelodeon DVD assortment (#1896910) (varies; shown: Dora's World Adventure, Dora's Christmas, Diego Saves Christmas!)
$10 off: Original Christmas Classics set (#228674) includes 7 TV favorites, with Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Frosty prominent on the cover.
Dec. 4-9
$10 off: Not "family" so much, but buy Pirates of the Carribean 3: At World's End, AND the Pirates 1 and 2 set, get $10 off total (#242572, #243763)
Dec. 17-24
$5 savings each: Disney Animated DVD (#243764) shown are Three Mouseketeers, Atlantis: Milo's Return, Beauty and the Beast: Beauty's Magical World SE, Pooh's Great Adventure (?) SE, Pocohantas II: Journey to a New World*, Pete's Dragon*, Oliver and Company SE. (Selection may vary by location)
(* these two DVDs have a banner on the top that is hard to read on the flyer, but it is "[something] Collection" in red.)
None of these are shown also to be available at Costco.com. Since I did not look at the flyer until I was back home, I could not check prices. The majority are not yet on the shelves of the store I was at.

For those with all-region players, it looks like the Complete Sherlock Holmes series can be had from Amazon.UK for about $100 delivered. For me, that's the price to beat. [Of course, I'm holding out in the hopes it shows up in a Deep Discount Buy 1 Get 1 Free Offer someday...]

I am very disappointed given the lack of Warners sets on sale. I was really hoping to get the new Noir set at a great price. Last year I picked up the Tough Guys and Thin Man sets and this year it looks like nothing for me. Oh, well.

These coupons are in store. Normally, my store hands them to you as they check your receipt on the way out. But, I found these coupons in holders along the wall on my way out today. The front of the flyer has candy canes.

Back from Costco and I grabbed 2 Christmas sets, One for me and another for my aunt. This seems like a great price as a little stocking stuffer or even as a gift.
My costco had no signs up of any of the DVD deals and they also didnt give out any coupons. Im so glad this site is around or else I wouldnt have known about it.
Also, is anyone elses costco putting the plastic white strips on the dvd cases?
I hate that they are ding this as the plastic strips are always on so tight and they tend to crush the boxes. Just be sure to find the ones without the plastic strips.....I found only 4 sets without them...
