Blade Runner deals
Ok, so I figured since this is coming out soon (and almost everyone is going to get it) we should post any deals or best prices we find.
I'm in for the HD DVD suitcase box, so far amazon seems to have the best price @ 66.95. The Blu-Ray box is the same.
DVD version is 54.99
Anyone else think there might be a killer B&N deal on this? Like last years for the superman set?

So far best deal I have seen is at Warner Video (some people think the shipping is very slow and customer service is bad, so buyer beware) by using one of their 25% off coupons (NVBM currently) and free shipping over $50.
DVD Edition = $22.46 after discount before taxes (if applicable)
Suitcase Edition = $59.96 after discount before taxes (if applicable)
Edit - the prices above are for HD editions.

Does the "suitcase edition" have anything going for it over the standard set other than the suitcase itself? Do people really expect it to be cool enough to warrant paying nearly an extra $40?

This is what 5 disc Ultimate Collectors edition will look like

Pre-ordered the suitcase from Amazon for $54.99. I think it will be very hard to find in B&M's release week and especially 1 weeks before X-Mas.

If you read the comments here:
Same disc content as the five-disc Ultimate Collector's Edition above, but NOT including the briefcase. Which perhaps tells me that the following pieces are also not included in the Complete Edition as well:
"Included is a lenticular motion film clip from the original feature, miniature origami unicorn figurine, miniature replica spinner car, collector's photographs as well as a signed personal letter from Sir Ridley Scott."
So if you want these additional items, I think you'll need to get the Ultimate Edition instead, though perhaps most here just want the equivalent DVD content.
I'm still wondering if with all of the image galleries, etc. that they have EVERYTHING that the old Criterion Collector's Edition CAV laserdisc had. I still have that and haven't dumped my old laserdisc yet until I know I can get all that's on there (including commentaries, etc.) on this definitive set.

Just how big is this briefcase? The 5 disk set separately is $30 I just don't see paying another $30 for a piece of plastic that will more than likely collect dust on my shelf. Granted it is a great merchandising tool!

So, how "limited" is this briefcase going to be? Is it limited to an announced maximum, or the number that they can sell during the first X months after release?
I have the 5-disc HD on order, but I'm thinking of back-stopping with a UCE set.

I only want the original theatrical release. If they think I'm buying three or four other versions just to get that, they are crazy. Unless of course it is priced right. What is the best price so far on the cheapest set containing the theatrical release? That would be the DVD Edition at 22.46 from Warner Video?
Oooooh, a "signed personal letter from Ridley Scott." Excuse me *Sir* Ridley Scott. Be still my beating heart.

Already pre-ordered the 5-disc HD version w/o briefcase. Only $28, not too bad.

Got the 5 disc HD DVD version out of my Amazon Gold box for about a dollar less than their current price. Have been seeing the suitcase in my box as well, but that's not for me.
So I would recommend checking that out, and continue viewing the item page to get amazon to know that you are interested in that product.

The DVDs in the breifcase are suppose to be placed within in such a way that the fifth disc pops up forward like Decker's eye scanner in the briefcase he carries in the film. Its to bad that there is not a shot of the set within the case to showcase how they look in the case.
