LOl, it cracks me up that Fye is trying to compete with all the other retailers offering fantastic deals. Fye wants me to get excited about BOG1F sale when they charge MSRP for boxsets. $45 dollars for 24 sets and Angel. A lousy sale.

Not everything can be a stealin' deal. There are some great prices for Weeds S1, Prison Break S2 and Always Sunny in PA...at least for resale deals.

That's right. It's a good deal on the 4 Dead Zone seasons I already own.

The code didn't work for me on the seasons I wanted. For instance, Seinfeld S9, Dead Zone S5, Twin Peaks Gold Box, the last 2 seasons of Everybody Loves Raymond. It's like they knew exactly which TV seasons I wanted and then excluded those. So I'll have to wait for a better deal on those.

why not? and if they ever want to even pretend to be in competition with the big dawgs, they're gonna have to rethink their entire pricing structure. I honestly don't see how in the hell any FYE store stays open....i mean, what idiot would pay upwards to $20 for a title that's a mainstay on Wal-Mart's $5 rack....especially when (like in my town) the two stores are less than half a mile apart.

Right ,a $20 dollar set at Walmart will go for $60 bucks there. Cds are like $20 bucks. Just insane prices. I went there last weekend, and the clerk just tried her darnest to get me to sign up for a $25 dollar membership. No thanks. Even with 10% discount, the prices still stink.

question before ordering anything, it only takes off the lowest of any if you buy more than two, not really a BOGO offer, LAME! Anyways, can the code be used twice, or only once? I was kind of interested in the alf seasons, but would need to make two separate transactions to get them, if that would even work. or does anyone know of cheaper prices on alf than $12?

I could be wrong, but I thought I heard that FYE makes most of their money on used DVDs and games. They pay $1-$5 for your average DVD, mark it up at least $5, and apparently lots of people buy them used. Since I often have trade-in credit there, I do like for FYE to have occasional competitive deals... otherwise the credit is not particularly valuable.

FYE doesn't rely on discerning, educated shoppers. The stores are always located in a shopping mall, which brings in their 2 main targets - impulse buyers and ignorant buyers. The impulse buyers need it "right now" and don't want to go elsewhere. The ignorant buyers are generally the gift-giving types that just don't know any better, and they buy gifts from FYE because they're already in the mall shopping for other things.
