Samgoody Buy 1 Get 1 on TV Sets
 

I walked into Samgoody today to find signs that said buy 1 get 1 free. I was like ok this must mean certain sets so I asked the manager for the list. He said corporate didn't send him a list so everything was fair game.... So I got a crap load. The Office Season 2 was already on sale for 16.88 so I got 2 of them so they were only $9 a piece with tax.

dinosaurs 1,2 $34.99

I wanted to get lost but they were 60 a peice and I didn't think 30 a season was a very good deal.

With all the buying you did, you should have ponied up $25 to join their Backstage program and saved another 10%. Based on the amounts above, you would have saved $24 + tax, so unless you're in a tax free state it would have paid for itself (since the $25 fee is not taxed).

I don't think the B1G1F was supposed to be combined with sale prices, so congrats for the deals that you got. The South Parks will be $15 each all over on Friday, but you avoided the crowds. Hell of a deal on the Office S2...

your right I should have joined. I'm really stupid. My receipt actually tells me how much I would have gotten off and it was listing both sets of dvd's. So I would have gotten more like 20 percent off of everything. I'm quite mad about it.

Excellent news! I shall visit during my Black Friday trek.

Take your receipt back to the store and tell them that you meant to join. I did this after making a large purchase and they deducted what I would have saved from the $25 for the Backstage Membership. If they won't do this for you, you can always return them and then join and repurchase them.

Hah, looking at the title I thought Sam Goody was giving away free TV sets!

I'm afraid if I go back and return them they might change their mind and not re-ring them.

As Sweet Baby James suggested, first ask them to do an adjustment. If they resist, just tell them that you'll plan to return your entire purchase and then re-purchase everything. I would think they would see it would be alot less trouble for them to do the quick adjustment...but of course, you never know!

there is indeed a list, this is an isolated YMMV situation. Titles on the list will ring up automatically, so congrats to you! Once again yet another terrible fye/twec manager.
