I tried buying the TP Gold set - it looked like it applied the code - and then in final checkout, it listed the non-discounted price! What's up with that?

Yep, and several of the HDs on my order at DD were $1 cheaper at DVDPlanet. Unfortunately, the DVDPlanet announcement had not been made when I pulled the trigger on my DD order. My eagerness cost me 20% of $1 on 7 titles... or $1.40.

actually, bourne, scent of a woman, and the DVE are about $1 cheaper, but also some are more expensive at planet (e.g., casablanca, planet earth, transformers). so, it turns out about the same, i like having the bulk of my order in one package, and i like giving my biz to ddd, for whatever bizarre reason . it's a long-running tradition in anticipation of the holidays i guess! tho i did place an order for some used stuff throught the planet. . .

Yeah, I'm the same way, although I realized that I could've saved much more on Sleepy Hollow if I'd gone through Planet -- but I've never ordered from them before. Even so, I'll be glad to get these movies -- when you spend more than $200, what's a couple bucks?
