Mark Harrill of DVDPlanet just added the Hi-Def versions to their site yesterday...

Ocean's Set HD DVD $54.98

Ocean's Set Blu-Ray $54.98

So DD might also add it before the sales ends. Mark didn't mention the standard-def version, but you could ask over in the DVDPlanet sale thread.

Most of the stuff I wanted was cheaper at DVDPlanet which completely surprised me, (so you better check with them first just in case and compare) so I placed a larger order with them.

My meager order with DD so far:

Tom and Jerry - Spotlight Collection: The Premiere Volume 1
$14.99 Standard Shipping
The Beatles-help!
$17.88 Standard Shipping

Coupon or Discount: $6.57

Order Total:
$26.30

I am really disappointed in the prices with both DD & DVDPlanet on HD titles. I was expecting to get some but I guess I will wait for Black Friday to see some decent deals hopefully.

I'm looking at the dvdplanet stuff now. It's stupid that I feel a devotion to deepdiscount on this sale, after four years of participation I've gotten in the habit of looking foward to it, like Thanksgiving for geeks. Oh well, guess the lowest price still wins in the end....

Actually, I just realized that I posted my DVD Planet order in the DD thread... Oops. I've been checking both frequently. Sorry for the confusion. I couldn't actually locate the Hot Fuzz HD DVD at DD, but I see that someone mentioned it was listed under Eastern Promises? Strange. Anyhow, sorry again for the confusion.

Don't see any incredible deals on movies, but have been on the lookout for a DVD rack. Can anyone recommend the best sub-$100 DVD rack? I'm looking at the Oskar Multimedia Cabinet (756 CD/360 DVD) for about $60 after the discount. How is the quality of these racks for anyone who has bought one?

I'll hope that DD adds the Ocean's Trilogy by Tuesday, otherwise I'll make my first purchase (ever) at DVD Planet.

It's been in my WishList for ages, and I don't recall it being over $25 in a long time. Season two is still priced at $15.89. Both seasons are priced at $15.99 at Amazon. What's goin on?
They're back to $15.89. Someone must have seen your post.

I spent about $200, nowhere near my usual $1,500. The sales just don't seem to be as good and there's a lot of stuff I wanted that is either out of stock or the price is too high (even with the 20% discount).

Ordered early, posting late.

Got in on Veronica Mars S3 for $30.11 shipped! Thats better than the price of used sets on eBay.

Also, directed my buddy to the site and he jumped on the Ultimate Bond collection, around $145 or so. Steal.

Happy Hunting.

I'm wondering why you didn't order the Kubrick box set WBD018614- same releases, ten bucks less, plus you get Full Metal Jacket as well.

Question for anyone who can answer it...

Why isn't the BSG: Season 2.0 & 2.5 set for sale? That'd be a great pick up with the 20% off.

Why do a lot of the widescreen movies show fullscreen under the description? I think this happened before or maybe it was just never fixed? I spent a couple of minutes wondering why I couldn't find my movies in widescreen lol

Absolute No-brainer. In for 1. thanks for the suggestion. Also this is a cleaned up act from MPI considering how horrible the earliest individual sets were, each of which I already own. Now to dump them on the bay.

1 HBD098219 DVD : SIX FEET UNDER-COMPLETE SER $ 119.91 In-stock
1 NLD005081 DVD : TWIN PEAKS-FIRE WALK WITH M $ 11.99 Avl 11/20
1 PRD013090 DVD : TWIN PEAKS-DEFINITIVE GOLD $ 51.19 Avl 11/20

I've been eying Six Feet Under since it was released and almost bit when it dropped to $150. Glad I waited! I know I'm going to get burned on Fire Walk with Me with a re-release but I couldn't get the Definitive Box without completing the collection.

In order to make sure you're ordering widescreen, you can check out UPC codes at DVD Empire to make sure they're in the proper format. If the UPC code is the widescreen number, yet the page shows it as "full-screen", it's most likely a mistake by the people at DD.
