According to what I've read, it's on a "do not sell until Nov 2" hold in their system.

No, the on-sale players have a different SKU and currently come up as "Do Not Sell".

Multiple people have confirmed it on other forums. It's TOMORROW (11/2) starting at 8 am.

called my local Best Buy, they don't have it in, and it is a liquidation tactic, if they are out of stock, they won't be getting any new ones in.

Correct. This is a clearance on the HD-A2s... because the HD-A3s have just been released and they need to clear space for them.

I saw no mention of a cutoff time (probably till they sell out). I'm going to break my neck to get there tomorrow and will prolly go by Walmart on my lunch hour to see if they have any left.

Doesn't work online with the HD-A2, only the A3 series.

That's because it's sold out online. If your local store has stock, checkout with local pickup and take a printout of the 2 disc free add to redeem in store.

Yup, that's what I'm doing. Have one ready for pickup at BB after work, printouts ready to go.

Printout of what page? All I see is a link to get 2 free, I don't really see mention of the actual offer anywhere that I can print.
Thx.

The link provided by Damed says this right at the top:

"7 FREE HD DVD'S with your purchase of any Toshiba HD DVD player"

It then goes on to discuss getting the two free from BB, and 5 free from Toshiba.

Print out the whole page that he linked, showing everything on the page. It's a glitch that it won't work online with the HD-A2, but it should clearly be included in the deal and should be honored at the store when you pick up the HD-A2.

OK, if you say so. That's the page I was looking at, so I'll try it out. Thanks!

darn. no best buys near me have it. oh well. Hey, I don't have an hdtv yet, but I have a native standard infocus projector with component input. What do you guys think, will hd dvd movies look better than regular dvd's hooked up this way?

Are you putting the 2 HD-DVDs in your cart, or are you just going to ask for them to be added when you get in store?

Too bad that none of the Best Buys in San Antonio have any stock of the HD-A2. The two free HDs is a Best Buy deal only and not good at Wal-Mart.

since there's two forums on this right now, I'll repost my question from the other one.
I don't have an hdtv yet, but I do have a native-standard dlp projector that has component input. Does anyone think that the picture will be better from an hd-dvd disc than a standard dvd on this projector?

I did not include them in my order. I figure I'll pick 2 HD-DVD's up in the store and bring them with me when I go to collect the Toshiba. I obviously can't promise they'll honor it, but I really see no reason they would not.

I'm gonna swing by Walmart tomorrow & try to pick up one for the folks. These make great Christmas presents at this price.

Just got back from BB doing the instore pickup. I grabbed Hot Fuzz and Batman Begins and bought them up to the counter with me. The girl actually asked if I knew about the 2 free DVDs. Took all of 5 minutes and I was out of there.
