Thanks for posting this! I would have missed this if it was in the Universal thread alone. Coincidently, I just placed this on my wishlist at DDD yesterday, but now that can be removed.

Probably at Amazon. I believe that Costco had it for $75 last Christmas with an instant $25 rebate, making the final price $50 plus tax.

There isn't any use in me wasting over almost 70 bucks incl. shipping for this collection being as there is only a couple movies that I would actually want from it which is The Birds, and Psycho. I already have the signature collection for Rear Window. But thanks though!

Is this a recent set? I'd love to get this set but I heard there is a new version of Birds and Psycho coming out... has that already happened?

As far as I know, such a thing has not happened. The titles in this set are an upgrade of previous versions of certain films (Psycho, Vertigo, others) due to these being anamorphic transfers. I also heard 'cock's titles are getting HD transfers as we speak (due to some of them being aired on some HD station), so take that into consideration. I picked up the set anyway, it's a great price for so many awesome flicks.

Some titles are an upgrade, others aren't. one may be worse (The Man Who Knew Too Much) HD transfers have been made (airing on HDNET next month) and usually a HDNET release has occurred a few months before HD DVD movies become available.

I would pass if you have an HD DVD player.

Welp, The Trouble with Harry was a floater. The hub itself is too loose for the disc to stay intact. This highly irritates me as I now have to manipulate the innards and the box as a whole VERY carefully. Also, there some visible defect with the Extras disc, a blemish is very noticeable along with light scratches. Aside from the very light occasional scratches on the movie discs, they seem to be alright.

Thanks for your info. I don't have a HD DVD player nor a HD TV I am behind the times and need to catch up. IF I were to choose between Blu Ray or HD I would probably go with Blu Ray since I can get a PS3 that is a blu ray player. Are their any plans to release the hitchcock movies on blu ray

Universal is exclusive HD DVD (at the moment) so there are no plans..but that can change at any time..if you don't have an HDTV TV, I would recommend this set.
