All of the film noir classic collections are absolutely top notch. If you're just getting one, I recommend volume 1, if for no other reason than it includes Out of the Past, one of the great noirs.
There are some great box sets here. I own the Bogarts, Errol Flynn, tough guys, gangsters, Peckinpah, James Stewart, Marx Bros, and the noirs and they consider them all essential.
