$4.99 deals at CCity, 8/19-8/25
Everyone's favorite store has a page full of $4.99 deals this week. Had to go look at the ad on their site.
Of note to me was Clash of the Titans. I could never get enough of this film as a kid. The review here praises this release. Anyone have it? Is it worth picking up, or is there a chance of a newer release coming? If not, I may grab it.

Decent deals on there but after all the crap they've caused on here, I doubt I'll shop with them anytime soon.

i just loved this film growing up, and still enjoy it more than many current fantasy movies with overdone F/X. story & cast was superb (as was the stop-motion F/X, of course). the disc is a no-brainer at $5!!!

Ya know I hadn't even thought of CC the past few wks.... wonder why... I was planning to make some big purchases later this yr too, but if I'm not going for the small stuff I'm certainly not for anything else....

yeah, and most dvds in the bins have dented packaging (nick marks all across snappers, and rips/holes thru the trap sheets in keepcases).

I will not shop at Circuit Shitty until they stop hunting for Speedy to serve him a subpoena (or worse). Even if those DVDs were for free would not make me sell-out my principles. I don't think our friend Speedy would go shopping at Circuit Shitty if one of us DVDTalkers were being hunted-down by their legal team.

There's a few dvd's I want in the ad, but it isn't worth the hassle.

Looking through the Walmart bin is easier than looking through 1 shelf at CC

If you want to get back at Circuit City, don't boycott them, become a "demon customer". Only buy $3.99 specials, but buy them one at a time. Make them price match loss leaders from other stores. Buy the Sunday paper on Saturday, purchase products that will go on sale the next day, then go back and make them refund the difference. Outsmart them using their own policies. In the end it will cost them money to have you as a customer. This is how I will avenge Speedy!

I am positive that Speedy (wherever he may be hiding-out to avoid being served a subpoena) appreciates everyone's support. Perhaps when Circuit Shitty sees the nightmare it has created for itself, it will issue an apology to everyone impacted to save their reputation/business!
Like I said in an earlier post, there are only a few times in one's personal life that you have an opportunity to STAND-UP and do the right thing! In this case, it appears our DVDTalk founder Geoff is fighting the Circuit Shitty subpoena he was served (as are the folks at Cheap Ass Gamer). These guys deserve a lot of credit for not giving-up Speedy's identity to the Circuit Shitty lynching party. The rest of us can contribute to the memory of Speedy by not shopping at Circuit Shitty .
