I think I've read that some of you see this pretty cheap at Sams Club and other similar wholesale club stores (a thread from May had season sets at Costco for $21.99, but that was probably a sale), and DD has it for $45.57 right now ($36.46 if it were 20% off).

You'll probably have to wait well over 2 years for The Wire. Season 4 isn't even out on DVD and the final season hasn't even started airing yet.

Thanks for the post. I've been waiting to get into this for a while, but HBO sets have always been too pricey to justify. I was even able to use the dregs of an old Sears gift card to pay most of the sales tax. Total price for me: $31.01.

On the other end of the price spectrum, Sears has Season 2 for $94.99.

I love this show. Best Buy had season 1 on sale for $24.99 about 3 to 4 months ago. I was hoping they would do the same for the rest of the seasons. Not yet though. Season 3 is on sale at best buy for $39.99 (according to Speedy) right now. I want to buy it, but I want to see season 2 first. I agree that HBO seasons are really pricey. I am wondering if they will put all the seasons on sale when the new season airs. Does anyone know when that will be?

This has been either $21.99 or $23.99 at my local Costco for a long time. If you have a membership, you might want to check there too. I don't see it on their website.

Apparently the first quarter of next year. However, there is a possibility of a sale on previous seasons when S4 comes out later this year.

Has anyone ordered this from Sears since this was posted? If so, was your credit card charged? I ordered it two weeks ago, and it came just a few days later, which is great, but my credit card still hasn't been charged, which is kind of annoying.

I was just curious if this is usual for them, since I'm used to stores charging my card no later than when the order ships.

I ordered it, received it later the same week, and my VISA debit card was charged the same day it shipped.
