Good find. I'm still looking for cheaper Futurama DVDs. perhaps I should check out eBay.

"The Big Valley" season 1 is $15.99. This is a terrific deal since it's the full (30 episode) season and the second season's "volume 1" is a 15 ep half season for $28.49.

I'll second this recommendation. For those who love 60's westerns, this is a great deal. While I was a little disappointed in the video quality (about the same as the uncut, uninterrupted episodes on the Western Channel), it's still a great bargain for a solid show. IMHO, the first season of the show was the best by far in every regard and featured many standout episodes.

For a lesser bargain, the first season of Voyage To The Bottom of the Sea (Vol. 1 $11.99; Vol. 2 $13.99) isn't bad although this season seems to go on sale for these prices quite often. Although the show got campier as the series went on (as in most Irwin Allen-produced shows), the first season was pretty good straightforward adventure.

Can ANYONE explain to me why they've yet to put the actual seasons of Ally McBeal on dvd, as opposed to the crappy "best of" thing that's been out for years now? :mad2:

It may - music rights for the UK may be held by different corps who aren't as bloodsucking as the rights-holders in the USA.

I think that's the case...some other show has gone the same way.

I remember reading a article and it had quotes from David E. about Ally. It was before The Practice came out on dvd. He said something like it was hard to get the pratice on dvd, but even harder to get Ally. He does expect it to happen, but it will be a bit longer. (Can't find the link though, so maybe it was in a magazine?)

Let's see... Barry White is dead, so I suppose there could be estate/probate issues. Vonda Shepard is alive and well and very good friends with David E. Kelley and his wife (Michele Pfeiffer), so I don't imagine there'd be a problem there. Since those two artists made up the bulk of the music, I'd imagine any difficulties would be therein. Ugh! F***ing lawyers!!! (And this comes from a 20-year legal secretarial career...)

Not lawyers per se, it's their record companies. It's rare, even for well known artists, to have any say whatsoever in the licensing or just about any other aspect of their own music once it has been recorded. It's one of the reasons that the MAFIAA is such an apt joke.

Looks like I will be able to grab the Lone Gunmen cheap.
