Blockbuster PV DVDs 50% off July 1-8 YMMV
 

From keeping up with the 'buy 2, get 2 free' blockbuster thread, I think we've learned the deals there are very much YMMV.

I was in Nashville, TN and stopped in at a store on West End Ave. and their sale was 50% all previously viewed DVDs. Their selection wasn't nearly as great as my blockbuster back home but their prices were lower.

Picked up Rocky Balboa, Children of Men and Facing the Giants for less than $5 each (priced at $9.99).

The signs posted the sale was just this week (through the 8th).

I live about 40 miles south of Nashville and it's the same story down here. I've bought a lot of titles. The stores here all have 50% off and the highest priced title is 9.99. Most are 9.99 but they had a few 4.99 and 7.99 titles. The flyer shows Apocalypto but I have yet to see that title at the 3 stores I've checked. I saw the 2 disc Just Before Dawn at one store for 7.99 which would have been $4.99. At another I saw Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance for 7.99. They don't seem to be moving very fast either even with the discount. Have picked up a lot of discs I was simply going to wait and rent. They don't put hub stickers on the discs so I can still sell them if I don't like them.

Can anyone confirm in the NoVa area?

just tried the one in cincinnati (Jefferson and short vine)...
no dice. I asked the guy about the sale and he looked like he had no clue what I was talking about. I explained it to him, "I heard that there was a special this week only 50% off sale on pv dvd's." he just pointed to the buy 2 get 2 and said thats all they have going on.
Not too big of a loss anyway. Most of the good titles at my store were prices at $15 or more... LAME!!
