Got an e-mail with this price after instant rebate.

Is this a good deal? I can't remember what I paid B&M for the past two seasons, plus this coming out around the holidays makes me think there might be some insane deal.

To pre-order or not to pre-order?

That's a pretty solid price for Lost. If you get free shipping and you have an FYE B&M nearby, you might as well preorder. You can return it to the store for a refund if you have a change of heart later on. Thanks for the heads-up!

I just got this email. It's actually a standard mail-in rebate. You'll have to pay $39.99 upfront, not $29.99.

Any clue what the price on S1 and S2 were at B&Ms the week of release? Best Buy more specifically?

I'm pretty sure that they were around $40 at BB and CC and around $36-$37 at Costco.

If I'm not mistaken I think season 2 was on sale at B&M FYE for 19.95 a month or two after it came out. I remember kicking myself for having already bought it.

I'll probably pick one from Best Buy, but still depends on what the bonus disc has.

How do you know BB is going to have a bonus disc? Those are the prices from last year (the release of season 2), not this year (release of season 3).

I don't like the mail in rebates. I will wait for deals on release date or Christmas time sales. Also there are usually bonus disks floating around at other retailers like Target , Best Buy or Curcuit City.

Don't forget to use WELCOMECCTEN for 10% off on top of that. Should bring it down to $35.99 plus tax and minus $10 MIR.

You are correct sir. It was a couple of days before Thanksgiving( a pre Black Friday sale).

What's the release date for S3? And when does S4 start, anyone know? We just got into Lost this year. We watched S1 on DVD and are now finishing up S2 (two more episodes!) on DVD as well. We were hoping to get and watch S3 before the start of S4 on TV. I'm guessing that won't happen though.

S3 will be released on December 11. I believe that S4 starts in January 08.

They had an exclusive bonus disc for Season 1, too. So the safe money's on that this year, I suppose.

Thanks! But darn, no way we'll have enough time to watch S3 before S4 starts. Especially with the holidays. . .

Just record the first couple of episodes of S4. That will buy you a couple of extra weeks to catch up.

I thought S4 started in Feb? That would seem to make sense so that they could play all 16 episodes with no breaks and cover both sweeps months.
