Thanks for the notice on these titles. I'd been searching for Omen III for over a year in the bin. I was just about to a pay a lot more for it on Amazon, so I'm happy they finally got some in stock. It rang up $5 when it should have been $4.46, but I wasn't paying attention.

And after spending considerable time digging, I found the only copy of RoboCop 2 my store had in the very back of the bottom shelf.

Try using lighter fluid to remove the sticker. Always works for me.

Goo Gone is your friend.

I went back today to see if they had any of those Paramount titles for 3.98. No luck, but the Halloween display had nearly been picked clean. Maybe they'll restock, but I'm glad I picked up everything I wanted yesterday.

YMMV, here in Knoxville, TN, I've noticed that the ESPN Playmakers and Escape From NY SE seem to be making a reapperance.

i was curious so i looked up the sales at my walmart and Full Frame is still outselling Widescreen 2 to 1 here.

Picked up a bunch of copies of Shock Treatment (one of my favourite movies) for 5 bucks a piece. I always make gift bags for people's birthdays especially if it is last minute and this will be a nice addition to the next few I make.

Just got back from my local Wal-Mart, nothing new to report in the $5 displays. I did grab a few though.

Lifeboat
The Longest Yard
Enemy at the Gates

ALso
Jeff Foxworthy Show (2-disc)
Twister
Outbreak
Absolute Power
Clash of the Titans

IF you haven't tried this, try buying Omen III .. it should ring up as 5.00, but the label in front of the DVD rack says 4.48. It's Wal-Mart policy (as described above) to give you 3.00 off if there is a mispice ... picked it up for 1.48 (1.60 out the door!) It may cost you 2.00+tax YMMV

For some reason, the Wal-Mart in Athens, Georgia had the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre for 5.00 as well. It was in the horror/halloween section. It was the 2-disc w/metal plate cover. Quite a deal for $5.

They did that last Halloween as well. That's how much I paid for mine...

I know its not listed on the slipcover, but does anyone know if the Wonderland DVD in the 5.00 bin has the second dvd w/ the John Holms documentary on it? I watched Boogie Nights last night and it made me want to check this out again.

has anyone seen "an american werewolf in london" in the $5 bin and/or halloween racks?

i saw it at a local wal-mart in their halloween section, but all the films were marked as $7.50, not $5.00. the price scanner wasn't working and there was no one in the dept to scan it for me. i probably should've just taken it to the front, but i didn't. wasn't sure if that was the correct price or if was just higher than other wal-marts. this store had the $3.98 paramount titles priced at $9.44, so i figured maybe this wal-mart just had higher prices overall.

I just bought this today, it was $7.50. I also saw the Omen collection boxset for $19.82, fantastic price considering you're getting 5 movies!

Except two of those movies are the remake and the Omen IV...

I went to my local store this afternoon because the 2-disc version has been on my "to buy" list for several years now. However, it was priced at $6.88, not five dollars. Still a decent price.

My copy also didn't have any metal plate cover. I've seen it advertised, but it's never shown up at any of my local stores. Come to think of it, none of the Halloween DVDs had any slipcovers like some people have noted. It's almost like the video department throws them away before putting them out on the shelf.

They also had "An American Werewolf In London" for $7.50, along with a bunch of others titles for similar prices. Kind of disappointing after the slew of $5 titles they had available last week.

I think it depends on the shipment. When I saw they had Shock Treatment for 5 bucks, I bought all 5-6 copies they had. A week later they had four more all with slipcovers. If that wal-mart didn't already assume I was a thief (I am under thirty and carry a bag... OOH! SCARY!), I would have taken the slipcovers but some other lucky bastard has them now. C'est la vie...
