Wonder what the rep will think when I go to pick it up from my local store. It will cost them more to process the transaction.

Also got a mint used set of Season 1 at local HV for $15 during their recent 50% off PVD sale. Love this program

Maybe I'm questioning the obvious -- is this a price mistake or some kind of promotion to garner interest for the show?

Guess it'd be a recommended blind buy for $2.

I assume these are the same discs they gave away for free around the time the S1 set came out.....

Not a bad racket, really

Thanks ericn101

I've been considering picking up the first season, though I'm not sure if i'd really like, and I don't get HBO, so two bucks is a decent way to see how the show is.

My local store still has several $.01 HBO promo discs in slim cases. Each disc has an episode of Rome, Big Love, Entourage, & Deadwood.

Also a Showtime promo disc in cardboard sleeve with Weeds, Tudors, Dexter, & maybe something else... I forget.

It's probably just the first episode of S1.
I don't think it's worth it for $2.
A .01 yes but not $2.

I have two versions of Rome, the DVD with Rome S1 episode 1 and the DVD that includes Rome, Big Love, Entourage, & Deadwood.
I wish they had a promo DVD with "Sex and The City" and "The Sopranos".

I know one of the Rome Pilot Ep "freebies" had burned in "HBO" watermarks.

They learned from that mistake. The ROME solo DVD with watermarks is nearly unwatchable. The HBO sampler DVD has no watermarks.

I also got a few of both of these promos...

That's a heck of a better deal than the stores in my area. One retailer (an HMV) has a set that includes the first season of Rome and the promo disc. The set is $20 dollars more than the season 1 set by itself.

Yeah, there's two different discs that have the Rome Pilot, and there's a disc that has the second season premiere.

But this Showtime one seems cool, I ought to look for that.
