Second attempt worked just now. Only difference is last time I switched from my checking account to CC on Paypal payment screen, this time I did not mess with anything.
Either that, or last time I didn't know how to spell 'FREEMONEY'. Who knows? Anyway, it worked! Black Christmas (SE) 7.46 with tax - thanks OP!

Picked up:

Elvis Costello - A Case For Song for 75 cents
Husker Du - Flip Your Wig for around 4 bucks
Bad Brains - Build A Nation for less than 2.

I think I will stop at that.

Very much like the Google checkout promotion except for the promised future discount and no $10 limit. Are people creating new PayPal accounts each time? Are people using a different credit card with each account? Are people putting funds in their new accounts or just letting PayPal charge the card for the complete transaction? Are there any fees when PayPal charges your credit card?

Dead!!

I just tried placing my 28th order and this is what happened:
"There is a problem with what was submitted:

1. The coupon FREEMONEY has expired.
So this deal is dead; to those who didn't place any orders already. For those who have, well time will tell if we simply wasted our time.

Just my luck. I was going to try it again for a book I've been thinking about buying, and when I finally decide to try to use the coupon more than a couple of times, I see that it's expired. )

Maybe it's for the best!

Got the expired message when I tried to buy a Criterion. Hopefully my first and only order for Forbidden Planet HD DVD goes through.

You didn't have to create or use other paypal accounts it let you do as many as you wanted. Obviously one big glitch now it will be interesting to see who gets what items. You know some will probably slip through the cracks.

Well, the codes were going through for people who did not even use the paypal checkout. They just entered the code on the site, so that's how people were making multiple orders from all over the internet. My one & only order has been cancelled. This was before they raised it to $10.01 & then a few minutes later nixed the whole offer. My order was free & has now been cancelled. They should have atleast honored one offer per household. MTV sucks.

ETA : I did use the paypal checkout as well, so I did the offer as shown in the e-mail they sent me. They just aren't going to honor it.
