well, this just gets better & better... I got the following email just now:

The order you placed has been canceled because we are unable to verify your information.

If you have any questions about this cancellation, call us toll-free at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289). For faster service, tell us the order number when you contact us.

so of course I called them... after discussing it with the guy he couldn't figure out why it was cancelled... so he offered to place the order again for me... then he saw that the price is now $22.99 and asked me about the $7.50 price... I said that was the price yesterday when I ordered and he said he could honor it... he placed another order for me & we hung up...

I then got a confirmation email... followed immediately by yet another cancellation email!

so I called them back and went thru the whole thing again with another rep... he insisted it was my credit card... so I gave him a different one... he agreed as well to honor that $7.50 price... and he placed an order...

this time, while he was still on the line with me... I got the confirmation & cancellation emails!

he said he was going to refer it to some higher level of technical support and I would hear back from them in 5-7 business days!

we'll see... I'm really not counting on getting it but it's fun calling them & trying!

Same. I picked up my V.2 with no problem. There was even one other copy on the shelf! Didn't check at what price it rang up.

To answer your question, the $15 off is off the $37.99 to bring it to $22.99. I am not sure why some stores say $7.50 as mine was at $22.99 as well.

Update: When I ordered the item a few days ago I got an in-store pickup e-mail. Within an hour I got an e-mail from I believe that store's manager telling me the order had to be canceled and any questions could be answered at the 800 number. I e-mailed back about the credit card charge and he told me it would clear itself up in 8 days. I figured it had been worth the try but nothing to get annoyed about.

Flash forward to this afternoon. I got an automated e-mail from Best Buy reminding me I could come by to pick up the set. So I printed it out and after work dropped by. The guy at the counter couldn't find it behind the counter. He called for someone to get it. They did. He rang it through. Vol. 2 was $7.50 plus tax (I just had to authorize the online credit charge). I walked around, thinking maybe they had a Vol. 1 I could get for that price. On the shelf were three other Vol. 2's, but no Vol. 1.

The store was Wheaton, MD so if anyone tried ordering it there and had a similar experience, you may have luck. Dunno. You're probably pondering what I was pondering. [Insert random, possibly frightening non-sequiter larded comment that ends with or is puncutated by at least one Narf.]

I just received this from Best Buy:

Dear Best Buy Customer:

Thank you for your recent Pinky and the Brain DVD: Volume 2 order on BestBuy.com.

Unfortunately a processing error caused Volume 1 to be shipped instead of Volume 2. You may choose to keep Volume 1 at the price of $7.50 already charged to your credit card or return it for a full refund. In addition, if you would like Volume 2 please call Customer Care and we will honor the sale price of $7.50 plus tax and shipping from Sunday. We anticipate receiving additional inventory of Pinky and the Brain: Volume 2 on June 22, at which time your order will be shipped if you made arrangements with Customer Care.

To further support you, you can call us toll-free at 1-888-BEST BUY

(1-888-237-8289) and a customer care representative will assist you.

If you used a gift card and elect to return volume 1 the funds will be returned to your gift card once the return is received. If you no longer have the gift card, please call the number above and a replacement will be sent after the return is received. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We look forward to your next visit to one of our stores or to
www.BestBuy.com .

Thank you for your loyalty,

The Customer Care Team
It sounds like you can call and get the sale price on Volume 2 even if you don't return Volume 1. I'm going to call and see what happens.

I got the same email. I didn't have any Pinky and the Brain to begin with so getting both for that price is great. He also said since it was their error, he was taking off the shipping cost as well. Kudos to Best Buy on this deal!

I'll call back tomorrow maybe I was just to honest for them and they just said screw it and disconnected me. I just mentioned how I got a email about calling and getting Volume 2 for $7.50 and blah nothing but the one transfered me and my call was "lost" the other dude seemed of just hung up the phone on me after I mentioned it.

I didn't get this e-mail that everyone is talking about but checked my order status and it seems like they changed my order and the SKU for the "new" item now mataches Vol. 2. Hopefully they just ship me Vol. 2 as I already have Vol. 1, but getting that one for $7.50 as well wouldn't be the worst thing in the world

After calling and being told to go to the store, I called again and spoke to someone else, who DID put the order through for me.

I called yesterday when I got the email and after going thru 4 people managed to place a new order for 2 vol 2s. I asked for in store pickup and will be picking them up today, $15.75 with tax for both of them. Not bad considering I only ordered 1 vol 2 originally.
