X-Files season sets $19.99 @ Best Buy (is this their regular price?)

Does anyone know if the X-Files sets that BB is selling for $19.99 is BB's regular price on the X-Files season sets?

I have (at least I think I have) bought the X-Files at Best Buy for $19.99 before. I did notice later that the tag read $41.

I picked up season 3 this week for $19.99. I was told later that same day (by someone whose opinion I don't trust) that Best Buy will not be running that price on the X-Files for much longer.

Does anyone know if this is the case? If it is I am going to pick up a couple more sets this week.

Thanks in advance.

At least for this week all FOX tv seasons are 19.99. Check the thread a few spots down for another coupon that you can stack with the sale for $10 off that price... effectively making each set only $9.99

Good luck!

I picked up seasons 5-6-7 & 8 for $9.99 after the coupon. All were stickered $41.99 (including the CE version of #8).

I picked up 6 seasons for $60.

W/out the coupon it would have cost me about $245.

Savings of about $185

GREAT SUCCESS!!!

So the coupons are working? I've been really iffy about trying it out.

I've never brought in printed out coupons.

Can someone link to the coupon in this thread?

Would love to pick up the CEs of the last three seasons I don't have.

Can someone please tell me what makes the X files a great show and hopefully an opinion from someone who isn't a sci fi geek who likes anything sci fi regardless of the quality. I bought season 1 but dont want to blind buy unless I can get some opinions on the show.

I hate most sci-fi, but I'd say a good 30-40% of X-Files episodes are pretty great.

My favorites are Home, the one where Patrick Renna is a vampire, and the one where Scully goes to a small town where people put the devil in hitchhikers' bodies.

I'm not a big fan of most of the alien episodes though, which sucks because there are a lot of them. And when Mulder leaves, it goes downhill.

Just to let you know, it's in 2 threads as well this one.

My Best Buy one for 6/10 and the Requested-Best Buy $10 Coupon thread.

It's easy to look around my friend.

And if my wife wasn't losing her job, I'd probably use it a couple more times.

If I didn't already own (and pay much more for) all the FOX shows I want in the sale, I would definitely use the coupon.

I'll agree with that amount, and say that an almost equal amount are not very good (to me Mulder is the only saving factor), while the remainder are just "OK". It was for this reason, the fact my Best Buy only had thinpacks missing the bonus DVD, and that I didn't want to go through the line 9 times with the coupon which made me pass on buying any.

By the way, are most people finding only thinpacks or did some stores have all 9 seasons of the old-style sets with the bonus DVD? It's not important... just curious.

maybe this thread is not the place to ask this, but i already got xfiles seasons 1-7 (most with the coupon). is it worth it to get seasons 8 and 9? i remember watching an odd episode here and there when they were airing seasons 8 and 9 on fox and being very underwhelmed... is there any value at all to 8 and 9? even for $10 a piece if i can still get them at that price?

I found season 8 in the Collector's Edition bigger package. It was somewhat shelf-worn, but still shrinkwrapped. I jumped on it since it's OOP.

I'm not a sci-fi total geek, hate as much of it as I love. I loved the first few years of X-files, great all around. I haven't watched the last few seasons, but will someday. Opinions are largely negative on the last four seasons, although some people like them.

I'd say buy them all, your $90 outlay will be less than the original price I paid for one season Open and watch the first season. You'll either be hooked and keep them all, or return the other 8 and only be out 9.99 for that first season, which you can sell or give away.

How good/bad is season 7 -- I have no interest in the show once Mulder leaves (aka, seasons 8 & 9), but thought it might be good to get season 7 since I never saw it. But even at $9.99, is it truly worth it, or will I be better off pretending the show ended at season 6?

I actually enjoyed the seasons with Robert Patrick. Yeah, they may not be up to usual x-files standards but they are still better then most televsion in my opinion. And for 10 bucks, how can you go wrong?

Seasons 8 and 9 had some great stand-alone episodes, but the myth-arc episodes weren't as good
