It's going to be hard but I am going to pass on this.

I have 24 boxsets in my wishlist for a total of $776.47 after the 20% discount. I just put a new roof on my house and garage and wrote a huge cheque to cover that. New windows is going to set me back another $7000-$10,000.

Good luck to everyone.

What do you guys think of my tentative list:

Complete Calvin and Hobbes
Undeclared (seen it, love it)
The Honeymooners (39 episodes, haven't seen it)

Should be around $106.44

Any idea why 'The Shield" season 4 has been discontinued?

So for anyone else like me who is planning to order the individual Leone titles on Tuesday and can't find The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly on the DD site, if you search on the UPC# (027616078537, gotten from other vendors) what comes up is "Moby Dick [VHS]," with a format of DVD and a release date of 6/5/2007 and a price that matches the other Leone individual titles. Obviously this is an entry error on their site and this is actually TGTBATU. I them emailed for a correction/confirmation, but if it comes down to it I may just take a shot at it regardless.

If you remember to file a Form 5695 with your tax return you'll get a $200 credit for the exterior windows purchased. Will get even more if you are buying any exterior doors, insulation or certain other energy saving items. So right there's at least $200 to spend on DVDs!!

For me, I still have so much to watch still and lots of work to do on my PS3 and Wii games, no need to buy anything more during this sale. Unless I see some smokin deal... too bad not many are posting order lists since that is where I spotted lots of good prices in the past...

This is most likely the route I will take. I was so stoked for weeks about the Leone Anthology, thinking it was going to be a box set with the individual packages for each title, but then I learn on here that it is only an 8 disc digi-pak (ala The Oliver Stone Collection). Weak.

That's good to know. Since I already have the Good, The Bad and The Ugly and don't want the Fistful of Dynamite/Duck You Sucker movie, I will only have to get Fistful of Dollars and For A Few Dollars More for a few dollars less than $30

Man, I even get hit for things marked gift and only $30! Customs really has it out for me.

Anyone else not get any sort of confirmation e-mail? It's been almost 3 days for me. In my account, it says it's processing but I've received nothing except an e-mail saying one of my titles was discontinued. I've ordered from 3 DDD sales, and twice now I've had discontinued titles.

For anyone who love classic TV westerns, you can't go wrong with HAVE GUN WILL TRAVEL. DD has the 1st three seasons bundled together for $82.52 ($66.02 after discount). At $22 per season for one of the all-time best westerns (with sharp writing, acting, directing, & cinematography), this is a steal. Each season has 39 (!) half-hour episodes...great packaging with different photos on the slipcase & each individual picture disc. Highest recommendation.

For CDs, Richard Thompson's new "Sweet Warrior" is part of the sale ($10.98 BEFORE discount). Vid preview on Amazon.

Also, Bruce Springsteen's "Live in Dublin" DVD has 23 or 24 songs filmed during the last leg of his tour with the "Sessions" band. Amazon has a couple of previews up demonstrating the radical reinterpretations he did on some classics ("Growing Up", "Atlantic City") as examples. Looks like a good one (DD price is $9.38 before discount)...street date is tomorrow, so discount show work then.

Also ordered TYRONE POWER SWASHBUCKLERS set for under $30 after discount.

Well this sucks. I was going to order a bunch of books yesterday, but decided to wait until I got a list of others I wanted together. Now every single book I was going to get is no longer listed on the site.

Never mind. The books are there, but 90% of what I was looking at the format is listed as DVDs instead of book & the author as the actor So they only come up on an entire site search, not when it's limited to books.

I know Deep Discount people usually read these threads. Guys if you want to make a go selling books you need to work out the format issue (you're all over the place on that one) & also it'd be nice if the isbn was listed with the books.

For fans of the genre, I recommend the two "Forgotten Noir Collector's Sets" from VCI:

http://www.vcientertainment.com/film...?item=2343&p=1

http://www.vcientertainment.com/film...?item=2561&p=1

The boxes are $14.50 each applying the DDD sale savings, which works out to $2.42 per film

Unless something really stands out before the sale ends, likely my one and only order, pretty much impulse buys:

VICTORY AT SEA SET $ 19.30
ARMY OF SHADOWS (CRITERION) $ 20.70

Merchandise Total: $ 40.00

Having been purchasing DVD's for 8-10 years now, I just have too many DVD's period, too many unwatched DVD's, too many "only watched once" DVD's, and too little time between work and family to catch up.

So this is a hobby that I still enjoy, and still appreciate much of my DVD collection, but it's coming pretty much to a halt for me. Not a bad thing considering how much I've spent on DVD's over the years.

I just ordered the Mel Brooks Collection for $39.90 shipped after discount. That's the best price I've seen by a wide margin.

I got some good prices on TV box sets (Grounded for Life S3, War at Home S1, King of the Hill S2, and Sopranos S1). As mentioned before though, if you pay attention to the ads that speedy posts weekly (thanks speedy!) you can sometimes beat DD's 20% prices.

I'm going to pick up Seinfeld S7 (volume 6) this week at Best Buy for only $16.99 (includes all others at that price except S8). That by far beats DD's sale price of $27+ for Season 7.

Still, I'm glad DeepDiscount is still having the 20% sale and look forward to it every time!

That looks like a recent issue. I ordered 2 books on Friday and they were listed correctly. I just checked for them today and they're now listed as DVD's.

Do you happen to know how this compares to the Walmart budget releases (either the individual 1$ volumes, or the 5$ complete set)?

No idea--but speaking of Walmart, this particular set, Victory at Sea, is currently $67 on Walmart.com. This set has been criticized for its video and audio quality, or lack thereof, but at $20, it's a nice set to have.

Just great prices on the mel brooks collection and the friends complete series, couldn't pass either up. Also have been meaning to pick up from the earth to the moon, it's been a little cheaper recently but I wasn't able to grab it.

I'll be placing another order after new releases on tuesday, hopefully not too big.

Mike, Not sure if you are a member of Costco. But, they have "From Earth to the Moon" for $21.99.
