OK - their search engine is VERY frustrating. Multiple titles are displayed without the aspect ratio specified. Or - even worse - it says fullscreen, then you click on it and it indicates it is widescreen! Unrated DVDs show up on a search as R-rated, then you have to click on the title to find out it is actually unrated. And (my favorite so far) I searched on the Flags of Our Fathers/Letters from Iwo Jima set, but their site tells me it is no longer available when I try to put it in my basket.

I better not be getting a bunch of R-rated fullscreen DVDs after I place my order!

Citizen X
Creepshow
Dark City
Exorcist 3
The Hitcher

Barbarella
Battleground
The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms

Grease 2
Halloween II

Shanghai Noon
The Three Amigos
Three Kings

Logan's Run has been a fav and wanted DVD of mine. But I'm holding out for a new release of that one.

Now, The Aviator... I've got bits and pieces of this one on TV for a while now. Don't think I've seen it start to finish, 100 percent. Something about this movie appeals to me. But... on the DD site... the one marked full frame has a picture of the widescreen case, and the other one that's supposedly widescreen has a picture of the full screen case. How can one know which is WS???

Wild Wild West is a fun one I've watched many times on TBS, until my cable company realized I wasn't supposed to have TBS. It's worth it almost for Salma in her outfit alone - and the unedited shot of her butt.

Which Alfred Hitchcock Boxset to buy?

I'm looking at adding one Alfred Hitchcock Boxset to my order, but I'm not sure which one to get.

The Masterpiece Collection vs. The Signature Collection

All comments are welcome.

If the remake were still being made, I'd absolute recommend waiting. Given that's been put out to pasture, I'm not sure I'd hold out much hope for a new release until it hits high def.

I had the same issue, but then after a little research I found out the set has been discontinued (it was a limited release). Can't blame DD for that, though I did email them and suggest they remove it from their catalog since it is not just not available now, but EVER.

In a way, it's like picking a favorite child... you really can't go wrong with either. If I could take only one, I'd go with the Masterpeice Collection.

Yep, I ordered a Megasale book and was surprised to get the discount applied. I thought that items with that logo were already sale priced, but hell, I'm not complaining.

So far, just The Kids In The Hall - Season 5 ($19.30 after discount, which is a great great deal).

However, on the 12th, the two-pack of The Office - Seasons One And Two comes out... which, at this point, would be $35.14 after discount. So, I'll be snapping that up, and probably a couple of miscellaneous things as well.

The Masterpiece Collection

It contains more top level Hitchcock films.
Currently, it is the only way to obtain anamorphic versions of Vertigo and Psycho.

if i didn't own any of the movies from either one already, i would probably opt for the masterpiece collection. that being said, new "legacy" editions of the Birds and Psycho have been announced for the fall, so you may end up double-dipping on those if you get the masterpiece collection and then want the latest and greatest release of those two when they come out.

as has been stated, you really can't go wrong with either set. if you've got the money, you should just get both.
