John Waters Collection=$42.99!

over here

it's part of their GAY pride sale.it's probably the cheapest price online i've seen so far...but there's a problem, i have never seen any John Waters films lol.i know many people say his movies are trash but can you compare them to something i would know? btw, i HATE Jackass movies with passion.

Buy it, his movies are about trash, but they are not trash.
That price is such a steal, it's worth it for his commentaries alone.

Dude...great find. I was about to buy this as part of DD's 20%. You definitely should not pass up on this set. All John Waters films are great (with the exception of Cecil B. Demented which thankfully is not included). Too bad Serial Mom is not in the collection. "Don Fucking Knotts"

What other GAY titles are on sale? The only gay film I can think of that I'd love to get is Mysterious Skin.

Great movie, you will not be disappointed, Javier Bardem is spectacular in his role, and if his character (Reinaldo Arenas - true story) intrigues you, check out his real life and work.

There is a freak show like quality to many of his movies, but not in the stunt(i.e. jackass) way, more like very outrageous characters and plots, like in an Andy Warhol, sense. Divine, the now deceased 300 lb transvestite is the lead character in many of his early films(up through Hairspray), and he populates many of his movies with cameos from people like Sonny Bono, Pia Zadora, Patty Hearst, etc. And he also had regulars like Mink Stole, and Edith Massey(aka Edie the Egg Lady). And the plots were things like in Pink Flamingos, a contest for the "Filthiest Person Alive", lol. Given that a lot of these movies were made in the 70s and 80s, it's pretty amazing actually, although ha ha all of them up until Hairspray were obviously done outside of the studio system.

I love his movies, I went to undergrad at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, and I used to go see them at late night showings at the Charles Theater. I even got to meet Edie once at her store in Fells Point, lol, she was just as creepy and disturbing in real life as she was on film. But they're not for everyone. They are frequently outrageous even by today's standards and often hilarious, but the early ones are crude and crudely made, and if you are easily offended, you definitely won't like them. I actually prefer the stuff from the middle period, so to speak, the most, Polyester is brilliant, imo, and the original Hairspray, vastly underrated.

I say it is a shame Cecil B Demented is not included. I feel it is a brilliant film. An ode to the masters of independant cinema as well as poking fun at mainstream hollywood.

I like all his films, and Cecil is great to me, but it is not included because it's not a New Line title, same for Serial Mom, and Cry Baby.

I ordered it. That don't make me gay, does it?
What if the UPS man wants "proof"? I'm not falling for that one again.

Thanks OP.

Ordered one also along with Cry-Baby DC for $52.99. Not a bad deal at all for a set that was retailing and Best Buy & Tower for $115.99.
