Does anyone know how long it takes DVD Planet to refund items that are discontinued and will not be shipped?

Did you pay with a credit card? If so, they haven't charged you for the discontinued item.

I paid via Paypal on an order which included the now discontinued FLESH FOR FRANKENSTEIN DVD from Image.
I was charged initially, but they gave me store credit. Log into MY ACCOUNT, click OPEN ORDERS and scroll down to see if you have credit.

Just a heads up. DVD Planet has been canceling some orders that used PayPal. Apparently, even though buyers have sent payment through PayPal, DVD Planet is trying to charge the credit card on file. My credit card was expired, so they canceled the order. I guess if your credit card isn't expired, you might end up paying twice.

I received about 30 DVDs of my order of around 40 or so. It was delivered UPS which I hadn't picked. It was very cool of DVDPlanet to upgrade my shipping.

Coupon appears to be dead.

I don't think they're doing it out of any kindness in their heart...it's just that after a certain weight (and insurance level) it becomes cheaper to ship UPS.

I have received my first of three shipments. It is quiet strange because first two were shipped at the same day but one is not here. I will give it a couple of more days or so but I'm happy with the 7 business days from US to NZ. Unfortunately my Brief Encounter was a floater and suffered few visible scratches, I just hope it won't skip.

Ah, I didn't know that. Regardless, my order shipped on Thursday and I received it on Monday. That's terrific delivery time.

I just got an email from DVDPlanet, canceling my order because the Criterion Smiles of a Summer Night is "discontinued"-- which is bullshit, by the way.

I had something similar happen to my order. I think what DVD Planet is doing is marking items that are not in stock as discontinued and refunding those items so they can ship out in stock items quicker.

Blah. I literally drained my bank account from this and the other sale, and I'm 30 points short of 400 Frequent Buyer Points. I can't afford to spend anymore money so this makes me upset since I have about $140 coming from trade-ins in the next week or two.

:\
