Their shipping is still very resonable considering The Post office just put in a system as complex as the IRS tax code, I'm actually surprised they still kept the free shipping.

There is a thread on this release in the DVDTalk thread you may want to skim. I personally decided to keep my TGTBATU and buy the three individual titles instead of the collection primarily for packaging reasons, even though I usually prefer sets.

Really, I'd like to see what they have done. Never seems easy with them. I think DD will keep free shipping as long as possible. Its been an integral part of their business for years and part of how they keep a lot customers.

Just curious, but why not go for the Studio Classics: Best Picture Collection? You get Gentlemen's Agreement, How Green.., plus All About Eve and the amazing Sunrise which you can only get in this set. It's $22.11 before the 20% off.

None of my business really, just thought I'd point it out. I got the set mainly for Sunrise myself, though.

Hi. I just ordered (title, orig, 20%):
BUTCHER BOY $13.37 $10.70
Lunacy $18.29 $14.63
Mysterians $12.08 $9.66
NO SUCH THING $9.65 $7.72

And, I will be ordering the DR WHO-NEW BEGINNINGS BOXSET after June 5.

Also still trying to decide about the Jodorowsky Set. I have the Fatoma FANDO Y LIS and I'm interested in getting the other films. But, I've heard such bad things about the discs. However, this is probably the best they'll ever get...
I'll probably get that set before the sale's over. We'll see.

Thanks DD

Completely agree...the past couple of years were so much fun. I remember the incredible 'The Perfect Storm' and 'Showgirls' box set deals for example (which I still haven't watched.)

This year, I don't think I'll really pick up anything.

Thank you.

It's kind of like when I'm helping people find books and when they see the price they tell me it's cheaper at Borders or Sams Club or wherever and I just tell them hey that's great, that sounds like a good deal. I'm not sure what they want from me since I don't control the prices. But anyway ...

My wishlist is at about $400, not including books (yikes!) and I have to figure out someway to justify spending that much before I pull the trigger.

298.63 242.45 242.476
...so the new method rounds to $242.48. In the good ol' days, the price would always round down after discount. Now it looks like DD is pinching pennies.
That's a bit too much to accuse DDD of modifying their pricing algorithm just to make a few pennies per order. In your example above, yes they did make an extra 2 cents (the Ben Stiller Show should show $15.37 not $15.36). But if my order was 10 of the Ben Stiller DVDs then my old charge would be $153.70 and my new charge would be $153.68.

Take it from someone who works in Finance, percentages should be applied to the gross amount rather than the breakdown amounts to avoid rounding off issues (a cent here and there would not matter to the individual, but cumulatively it is a nightmare in our books!).
