Yeah, all of the movies that used to be at the $10.48 price (Vertigo, Psycho, Rear Window, Seabiscuit, Gladiator, Blues Brothers, etc. etc.) are back to their normal prices because that sale ended 5/30/07, which was yesterday.

For those of you waiting for DVDPlanet's 20% off sale (which may or may not happen) only for Criterion titles, there are some titles which are priced lower on DD than DVDPlanet. I don't see the reason why someone would wait for DVDPlanet's 20% off sale in this case. Some of the lower priced Criterion titles i could find are:

3 Women
Amarcord
Brute Force
Grey Gardens
Harlan County USA
Kind Hearts And Coronets
Late Spring
My Own Private Idaho (2-Disc Director's Cut)
Naked
Overlord
Playtime
Shoot the Piano Player
Slacker
The Third Man
Tin Drum

Someone mentioned the Andromeda Slipstream collection a couple pages back and I remembered that that's a set I want, but it isn't available on the site anymore.

And jeez, I'm totally not ready for this sale. I was really hoping it would start in the middle of the month. Oh well, I guess it's long enough that I can try to make some money on eBay before it's over.

Yup, out of the hundred CDs I wanted not a ONE have that bite price.... I was right.

3 words, Deep Discount Blows.

Even CC has a good sale. Theres certain stips but at least they try. DD, you wont be getting my money.

I hope others smarten up. Its a shame because its US that made DD noteworthy and gain attention. Now its gone to their heads.

Two orders so far for $144.86 and $49.12. Picked up a number of anime titles I've wanted. Bandai, ADV, Pioneer, Central Park Media studios all are participating in the 20% off.

Hmmm ... when I do a search and click on the title of a DVD, I'm not getting any info. All I get is "People who bought this also bought" ... anyone else having this problem?

You're wanting CDs. CDs which have never been a part of this sale. So the fact that they're still not a part of this sale is proof to you that the sale sucks and people need to "smarten up?" Use your fucking brain. The whiners on this thread are pathetic.

Seriously, some things have had oddly timed price changes both up and down. But, come on, they do have to turn at least some profit. Buy from them if you like their prices. If you don't like the prices, don't buy from them.

HD Heaven

If you have an HD player, and didn't get the New Matrix Ultimate Collection or Complete Series, you are crazy to not get it now! So here's my list.

Star Trek - The Animated Series $38.39
Comedy Central Roast of William Shatner $13.79
Ultimate Matrix Collection [HD DVD] $77.22
(woulda got Complete but wanted in stock version to be safe)
Serenity [HD DVD] $21.95
Posedion [HD DVD] $19.32
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines [HD DVD] $19.32

Less the 20% of course!

I'm really just searching to add to my wishlist for the time being, so if you click on Buy Now!, it'll add it to your cart then you can move it to your wishlist from there. Kind of a pain to go through the extra step, but oh well. I'm sure they'll have it fixed in the morning, if not later tonight.

Couldn't resist. I remembered I've been waiting for a good deal on Planet Earth (I didn't see the series but I've heard so much about it I figured I couldn't go wrong) and DD's price with discount is $43.12. Also I had been wondering if I wanted the Sigourney Weaver American version (which is being sold only by the Discovery Channel for $79.95) or the David Attenborough British version (which is being sold everywhere else at standard discounts from $79.95). Reading comments convinced me that the Attenborough narration is far superior plus the British episodes run 8-9 minutes longer (50 minutes each) as the Discovery Channel edited them in order to run the standard 18-19 minutes of commercials for a one hour program.

My recollection is that Jason of Star Command was the best. But that might have been from having the hots for Susan O'Hanlon and her tight spandex. Pamelyn Ferdin of Space Academy was cute, but a bit young to truly lust after.

Ark II was pretty brutal, but then I've always hated series with monkeys in it. No, I don't find them amusing or cute.

And JOSC gives you James Doohan in an "I'm not Scotty dammit" role, so that's another reason to get it if you only pick one set.

Prime Suspect DVDs

I've had the six Prime Suspect DVDs in my Wishlist for ages waiting for this sale and since they haven't gone up in price, my clammy, little hands are itching to order except for this one question: does anyone know if there are plans to release a compilation set in the not too distant future? Even though the sale price is good on the individual titles, I'd prefer waiting for a boxed set, especially if it includes the final unreleased one (No. 7). Any advice from you DVD konnosewers out there?

Others were complaining about price flux, the CDs were an addition to those complaints that the sale is below par. Piece shit together instead of bieng a fucking sheep.
