Haha, upped the prices on all the Wellspring titles I see. Don't think I will be partaking then.

Man, held off on The Mummy Collection this week at CC, but DD just went up 5 bucks on it. No thanks.

This isn't as fun as it used to be - prices at DDD are much higher overall than in the past. Maybe you can still find some bargains, but it's not a free-for-all anymore.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with the consensus here. Usually I'm one of DeepDiscount's biggest advocates (and I still am -- I just happen to be one who is disappointed with this sale so far in its very beginning stages).

For example, I was planning to order the Alfred Hitchcock Masterpiece Collection and Life in the Undergrowth during this sale, but I see both are 3-5 dollars higher than their Amazon prices. LitU would (I believe -- I haven't done the math) be cheaper to buy on Amazon than to purchase WITH the sale.

I'll keep checking the prices on these through the 17th... maybe the DeepDiscount fairy can come through and makes things better for me?

Yeah, I went through my list of DVDs and found no deals - ironically, ended up with a book.

The set I most wanted is now 20% higher than it was yesterday. Oh well. I will compare prices on the rest of my wishlist and see what's still a good deal and what is not.

I am planning on getting Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys Mysteries but it is still listed as a pre-order. Wish I could order it today with the discount. It will be released on the 12th though. I also hope they don't change the price.

Looks like they fixed the rate to Canada...its back to a flat rate of 5.95
As for the person who wondered about international rates you can find the details here:
https://www.deepdiscount.com/shipping_timeframes.htm

When you checkout there is now a link to these rates from there so i'm assuming these rates are pretty up-to-date.

i noticed too that some prices were upped on some stuff i had...i should really keep better track of how much thing were prior to the sale

i havent purchased yet but plan to sometime today

Like a few people mentioned, their prices aren't so hot anymore. I assume most folks are waiting to see if DVD Planet mirrors the sale. With FBP and their lower Criterion prices, they are the better option if a sale does in fact occur.

When do pre-orders cease to be pre-orders? The day of release? The day before?

Thanks, E

If I look in the section "DVDs Under $10", I see loads of DVDs not under $10. For instance, wasn't Silk Stalking $9.82 recently? Now it's $18.xx. Probably a way of seeing how they've jacked up some prices.

I can only think of a couple DVDs I might order (Revenge of the Nerds: Panty Raid Edition and the Officer and a Gentleman re-release, which is only $7.82). Was looking for Battle of Iwo Jima Eastwood box, but it says Item No Longer Available. Lame...

DD - can you match the Fawlty Towers Complete Series price to Amazon's price? If so I'd definately buy it during this sale.

The Andromeda Slipstream collection seems pretty good at about 80$, but I've never seen it. Any recommendations?
