Kroger 2/$10

Just got back from Kroger. Had a B1G1 sale. Had some decent picks. Iron Giant SE, 2046 (!), pink panther cartoons (volumes 1, 2, 3), etc.

Lots of James Bonds, too, but they looked like DTS non-anamorphic versions? weird...

Steve 05-27-07 06:58 PM

p.s. the james bond films are indeem anamorphic and DTS!

Thanks for the heads-up; I saw the sale starts here this Tuesday. I'm all over the Bond films.

Glad to see confirmation in Cincinnati. I'll check it out as well.

king soopers and city market are owned by kroger so colorado should have the sale.

DaTimster 05-28-07 06:59 PM

Looks like the sale has already started here; but pay attention at checkout. I picked up two of the Bond films from the display and they did not ring up buy one get one. I pointed it out and they corrected it, no problem.

Strangely, it did not work at the store I was at either, until it was almost completely through. Then it suddenly popped up. It was very, very strange.

I just came from Krogers (was there for groceries, not DVDs) and noticed the b1g1 display with about 10-15 titles. The wording on the rack indicated it was for the titles in 'this display only'

There was a larger separate rack with many more titles, including the Bonds movies. Didn't have the time today to scan any of those or see if a cashier would ring up the sale price, but at a glance those didn't appear to be on sale.

I thought it was supposed to be Sony only films.

I had this problem a while back when MGMs were B1G1 and thh Sony discs didn't ring up despite Sony owning MGM.

strange. the label was on the (only) large display in my store. Probably 50 titles...

printerati 05-30-07 09:45 PM

Some nice titles at the Dent store in Cincinnati, including Downfall, Run Lola Run, and the aforementioned Iron Giant. There were about 50 titles in the display, but not a Bond to be found among them.

I was going to search for a second display, but the GQ Jessica Alba swimsuit cover compelled me to get in the checkout lane instead.

FangsFirst 05-31-07 12:50 AM

Oooh Run Lola Run...might have to check another Kroger. Was debating Downfall already...
