Damn, nice finds on Donnie Darko, and especially A Scanner Darkly (since it's so new!).

I came home to a pleasant surprise.. at one of the B2G2 stores, I bought H.G. Well's War of the Worlds... it's not the Tom Cruise version, which was fine.. hell, it was 90 cents after discounts. Anyways, the disc inside the case turned out to be the new Tom Cruise version, and since I don't own that one.. YAY for me!

Yea, the manager was saying that a lazy employee didn't take the time to look up the right sku.

I once found at the same gamestop the hd-dvd box set of all 3 mission impossible movies priced at $9.99/$9.99/$12.99. so I ended up buy them all for $23 with the b2g1 deal.

Btw..90 cents for either War of the Worlds movies is a steal in my book!

WOOOT!!! Went to another GS today... found a BUNCH of $1.99 dvds I was all too happy to take off their hands. Won't list them all here, but I do just have to share a little excitement as I found "The Best of She-Ra, Princess of Power" in absolute MINT condition, all inserts, etc., for the wonderfully-low price of $1.99!! (Then, of course, I have the Edge card, so 'twas even less.....)

HAPPY HUNTING ALL!!!

Nice deal on the MI HD-DVDs, as well.

Hit up two more EBs today, and they were the worst yet. One store had all but 3 of their movies marked up correctly. Of the 3, one was night of the living dead, of which I own about half a dozen copies of now (through different horror movie collection discs and separately), and 2 were of the same title, and it didn't look good.

They actually should have had about 5 more titles, but instead of the Used DVD NC-17, R, etc. etc. sticker, they had them marked Used DVD No box/artwork for 4.99 instead, even though they DID have boxes and such. Bastards. thankfully nothing that great anyways...

The other EB didn't even have movies anymore. Damn.

I finally found some deals at mt local store yet they still were not aware of any clearance DVDs. I started finding several different $1.99 titles. Most of them being cheap looking, etc.

I picked up Shooting Gallery, and a few other asain movies, Public Enemy and Death Trance for $4.34 out the door. I was quite happy. Too bad no other stores in my area.

Update: Ugh, I don't even think the Smithaven stores are running it. But even if they were, everything was picked over like hell.

Hey guys,

I'm new to this site, but not really to DVD collecting. I plan to hang around for a while, since this seems like a good base of operations for DVD fanatics

Anyways, thanks to the tip in this thread, I've hit up 3 GameStops so far. Have 2 more in my area to check out before I'm done, but here is my loot so far:

The Net
Kiss the Girls
Hollow Man 2
To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything
The Dreamers
Find Me Guilty
Masters of Horror: Fair Haired Child
Masters of Horror: Deer Woman
Masters of Horror: Sick Girl
The Gundam Movie Part 1 [Anime]
The Gundam Movie Part 3 [Anime]
Some Dragonball Z movie (Don't remember the title) [Anime]
Spiral discs 2 and 3 [Anime]

Nothing amazing, but for 1.99 each with B2G1, it's a great deal! thanks!

EDIT: Also got these...

Idiocracy (Dirt cheap considering it is still on shelves for 19.99!)
Brokedown Palace
Hudson Hawk

EDIT 2: Add The Chinese Connection as well.

I got the Heart is Deceitful Above All Things (I think that was the title), the Palm Pictures release directed by and starring Asia Argento for $1.99 about a week ago before I knew anything about the sale. It was the only title at my store that was actually marked as $1.99 that I saw.

All right, here is a real stupid question.I looked in my yellow pages under"video games".I noticed a few "GAMESTOP"s.After that, there are a few "GAMESTOP STORE"s listed.I am guessing these are the same?Just want to make sure, before I venture out on another DVD hunt.It has been years since I went to a Gamestop store, but I think there are at least 3 near me(Independence MO).

I bought a ton of movies yesterday in Reading, PA from the 3 EBs/Gamestops there, including a gem that I didn't know was a gem:

The Saragossa Manuscript

The cover looked cool, had Coppola and Scorcese's names attached to it, and looked interesting. Checked on Amazon, and the price was around $70 used for it. Ebay didn't have any selling recently. Who knows if I could get that price, but damn. $1.20 was real nice for this one. I'd like to watch it first though....
