Yes, all old trade ins. I wonder if the few new titles I have seen in local stores have changed prices at all... One store has 5 new copies of Irobot sitting in the drawer but I never thought to ask.

netphemera 04-09-07 09:51 PM

Not all that impressed by the selection. I also saw a bunch of $9.99 items marked down to $5.99, like Grizzly Man.

bwsmom 04-09-07 10:12 PM

Okay, I am now doing the HAPPY DANCE!!! Went to the EBGames by my office... the few dvds they had at $1.99 sucked, BUT.... I got Series One and Series Two of the BBC's "The Office", plus POTC: DMC, all for less than $24 TOTAL!!! Yeeeehawwww......

Steve 04-09-07 10:22 PM

well, mine had a b2G2 sale. only 1 or 2 items were $5.99.

Ravenous 04-10-07 01:21 AM

I found 1 $2 movie... Seven Swords. I bought it. The chick also hit on me at the gamestore. Pretty cool since shes the only hot one Ive seen locally. Now I gotta go back :)

SI78 04-10-07 01:45 AM

I got all 5 OOP Dirty Harry movies for $1.20 each (plus tax)!

Very nice. I'm going to hit up more locations tomorrow.

Dude I envy you, that's awesome. I love the bbc office and to get them both at average cost of EIGHT DOLLARS EACH is amazing beyond all words. Good find :D

chard31 04-10-07 08:38 AM

For all you people that are finding "alot" of movies, think you can make a list of your finds and post them here?

I'm just curious as to what is out there...

lol, I don't even remember if I looked at your name and still wrote dude, or if I really thought you were a guy. Sorry about that.

Behave!
LOL

PsHayes 04-10-07 07:16 PM

Has anyone seen movies tagged $9.99 or higher ring up as $1.99? I found a few $5.99 movies with generic tags only one of which I was interested in that rang up as $1.99. Nothing $9.99 or higher for me yet.

uncleRemus 04-10-07 07:53 PM

This is what I got from 2 stores today for $10.74...

Winter Passing
Korn - Live on the Other Side
Hearts in Atlantis
Fire in the Sky
Twin Peaks - Pilot Episode (OOP...3 used & new available from $59.99 at Amazon)
Bat Thumb
Blair Thumb
Thumbtanic
The Ape Man/The Black Dragons Double Feature

DerangedHermit 04-10-07 08:39 PM

Picked up WWE Tribute to the Troops for $2.16. Not bad...although I wish there were other WWE DVDs in the $1.99 selection.

It's always a huge YMMV with GameStop. People post about finding Rome and Deadwood sets for $25, and all I usually see is the same crappy comedies and J-horror remakes. But for what it's worth, I picked up the following on Monday:

Masters of Horror: Deer Woman
Yokai Monsters: Along With Ghosts (Spook Warefare was also there)
Mad Monster Party
Incubus (Shatner in Esperanto)
Night Passage (independant film on Synapse)
MST3K: Eegah
Transylvania 6-5000 (why, I don't know)
a Chinese documentary on the Shaolin Temple
and Descent ($5.99)

9 movies for under $17.50 after tax, which ain't bad. A couple are blind buys, but these prices are cheaper than rentals.

I stopped off at another GameStop, and they had no $1.99 discs. The basket displays where they usually keep the cheap DVD's were gone.

chard31 04-11-07 08:22 AM

Hit a few more GS yesterday...

American Idol - The Search For A Superstar
Bright Young Things
Chrystal
Dave Matthews - The Central Park Concert
Entourage - S02 Disc #3
Evil Breed - The Legend Of Samhain
Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer
Gun Crazy
Hilary Duff - All Access Pass
Jailhouse Rock
Jawbreaker
Marebito
Monty Python - DVD #4
Ninth Gate The
Ozzy O - Unauthorized
Primary Colors
Random Hearts
Saint The
Sound Of Thunder
Spinout
Star 80

I've seen a bunch of the WWF titles for $1.99 but I have zero interest in them so did not buy them...

I was just at the Gamestop and EB in the Capitol City Mall, the one on the Carlisle Pike, and the one at Union Deposit today. Bought probably 10-15 DVDs at each.

Ah, so <i>you're</i> the one that's been finding all the good stuff. ;)

Next time you go, could you see which ones they have? I'd be interested in buying some of them for cheap. I've exhausted the three closest GSs to me.

The ones in Shirley and Medford?

I am in Nassau county...

I'll look...

camwar 04-11-07 10:43 AM

I was down in Westminster MD on Monday and grabbed

Feast
Rest Stop
It Waits

They had Decoys and a bunch of Lifetime type movies for 1.99 but I have no need for them lol

Sorry. :P Just so happened I have this week off of work, so I've been able to get around to a bunch of EB/Gamestops in the area.

toxie321 04-11-07 11:52 AM

Is it Eb games also?

No prob! I thought Ravenous was a chick until he posted about being hit on by a hot girl at his local store... err... well, maybe.... (not that there's anything wrong with that!) :scratch2:

DirkBelig 04-11-07 12:37 PM

The Gamestop I went to (Dearborn, MI) had darn little in the way of generic stuff other than skateboard and wrestling discs and public domain movies. Bleah. All were repriced at $1.99 except for a copy of Autumn in New York. I picked up:

* Mute Witness
* The Devil's Backbone
* Heart of Dragon (old Jackie Chan/Sammo Hung flick)

Not bad for $3.79 w/discount card & tax. A Blockbuster rental is more!
