Since the clerk told me their truck didn't come in and to check back later, I went back to CC Wednesday night. Still no Phantasm on the shelf. Asked a different clerk about it, who told me they were sold out, which was obviously a bald faced lie, as they didn't have 5 or 6 other new releases that came out this week. I know darn good and well they didn't sell out of everything. Guess that truck still hasn't made it to the store. Who the hell's driving it anyway, Gilligan?

By the way, I checked across the street at Best Buy and also at Borders. No sign of it there either. Christ people, this isn't "Salo," it's f-ing Phantasm! Why is this so freakin' hard to find?

Looks like Deep Discount will get my money. They've got it cheaper than CC anyway. If this was an isolated occurance I wouldn't think that much about it, but as I said this happens virtually every time I'm stupid enough to think I might find something at CC. And then brick & mortar stores wonder why they're losing business to the internet tubes.

where are you located? i wonder if this is a regional, isolated problem or a widespread occurence.

you mentioned that this happened to you before at CC...does it happen very often? (i rarely shop there, just in the event of exclusives).

and yeah, it's been hard to find. haven't checked at best buy, but my local hastings had nary a copy.

Paducah, KY is a no go...same story, didn't get their shipment in - blah blah blah, they got three in but not ones with the poster. Apparently, the ones with the poster have a different UPC, at least that's what the clerk in my neck of the woods told me. We opened one just to be sure, they were correct, no poster.

It's widespread (at CC) from what I can tell and have been reading.

I came back empty handed Tuesday from my brand NEW CC in Milford, CT.

The next night I got it at Best Buy up the street.

Phantasm wasnt at my store either which was a disappointment.

I'm in Southern Indiana. After all this trouble looking for the crappin' thing, I finally found a copy of Phantasm Thursday night at TARGET of all places. Right across the street from where I live. That was probably the last store I expected to have it.
